Overview
Finance can close the books on everything except AI. Amazon Bedrock spend lands in the AWS Cost and Usage Report as model and usage line items, while the context that explains it - which user, agent, feature or team made the call - lives in application telemetry. Observability tools estimate cost from token counts. The bill says something else. Deterra closes that gap.
Deterra focuses on one use case: AI workloads on Amazon Bedrock. We start with the bill, end with the bill, and match the bill.
What Deterra does
Reconcile. Deterra compares cost signals (OpenTelemetry data, Amazon Bedrock model invocation logs and API usage metadata) against billed cost in CUR 2.0. The gap between estimated and billed spend is the first thing you see. Attribute. Each token, and each billed dollar, is mapped to the unit that produced it: a user, agent, feature, prompt, team or customer. Attribution uses the business metrics you already run on, so unit economics are built on billed numbers. Optimize, with a human in the loop. Choosing a smaller model, caching a prompt or buying Provisioned Throughput each trade cost against something else. Deterra puts the measured cost next to the trade-off, and your team makes the call. How it works
Read-only access. Deterra connects through a single cross-account IAM role, scoped to the minimum permissions it needs. There is no proxy in your request path. Your existing data. Deterra reads AWS CUR 2.0, Amazon Bedrock model invocation logs, AWS CloudTrail and the OpenTelemetry data you already emit. Deterministic matching. Reconciliation is rule-based, not statistical, so every attributed number traces back to a billed line item. Who it is for
FinOps and finance teams who need AI spend to close like every other line item. Engineering and product leaders who need to know which AI features pay for themselves. AWS partners and consultancies that run Bedrock workloads for their clients. Getting started
After you subscribe, you are redirected to Deterra to register your account. We set up the read-only IAM role with you and walk you through your first reconciled view. Questions before you buy: support@deterra.ai .
