The DART PacketSensor is a lightweight virtual instance that analyzes 100% of network packets, collecting Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to ensure QoE and SLA targets. You pay by the hour based on the AWS EC2 instance type you run this packet sensor on. All nine dimensions cover the same 10 Gbps sensor deployed on different xlarge instances. Most options are memory-optimized r-series instances (r5a, r5d, r5, r4, r5n, r5ad, r5dn, z1d), while g3s uses a GPU-based instance. Your cost scales with how many hours you run and which instance you select. Instances differ in CPU, memory, storage, and network profiles, so you choose the one that fits your workload. There are no tiers or long-term commitments here.

What throughput does one running instance of this sensor deliver?
Each virtual sensor instance captures traffic at line rates up to 10 Gbps. You run one sensor per EC2 instance, and each instance captures raw packets and metadata with no sampling. To handle more traffic, you run additional sensor instances.
Am I charged when the sensor instance is stopped or paused?
Hourly software charges apply only while the instance runs. Fully stopped instances do not accrue sensor charges. Stopped instances may still incur underlying AWS storage fees for attached volumes, but the sensor license meters running hours only.
Why choose the g3s instance over the r-series options?
The r-series options (r5a, r5d, r5, r4, r5n, r5ad, r5dn, z1d) are memory-optimized. The g3s option uses a GPU-based instance. All run the same 10 Gbps sensor. You pick based on your compute, memory, and processing needs. Each instance bills at its own hourly rate.

To use Cirries DART Packet Sensor Solution having upto 10gbps traffic, perform the following:
Deploy the template from the AWS Marketplace which will deploy DART Packet Sensor on separate instance.
Connect to EC2 instance using SSH as ec2-user user; For example: ssh ec2-user@<Publicip_of_PacketSensor10Gbps_instance>
Enter Dart IP ADDRESS obtained from DART instance for example:
50.17.179.25 (This should be the IP of the DART instance)
