Overview
ExpressCluster is a software solution designed to safeguard system infrastructure that demands high availability and continuity, protecting against any failures that could lead to business interruptions.
It monitors hardware components (Disks, NICs), operating systems, and applications (such as SQL Server, Oracle, PostgreSQL, SAP), and synchronizes data across clusters. This allows the software to detect failures and maintain system operations without data loss. The software can automatically switch operations, monitor failures, and synchronize data across multi-availability zones or multi-regions, all of which can be easily configured. By configuring clusters across multi-availability zones and multi-regions, continuous operations can be maintained in different availability zones and/or regions, even during an emergency outage of cloud services. AWS can also serve as a backup location or secondary site for on-premise systems.
Highlights
- Recovery capabilities for all types of failures (hardware, network, application)
- Proven experience with over 200 applications, Disaster recovery experience over distances of 1000+ km
- Capability to achieve zero data loss, Ranked as the No.1 market share product for over 8 years in the Asia Pacific region, Trusted by 17,000+ customers worldwide

Amazon Machine Image (AMI)
An AMI is a virtual image that provides the information required to launch an instance. Amazon EC2 (Elastic Compute Cloud) instances are virtual servers on which you can run your applications and workloads, offering varying combinations of CPU, memory, storage, and networking resources. You can launch as many instances from as many different AMIs as you need.

Usage instructions
ExpressCluster is preinstalled on each AWS AMI image so it is only necessary to configure a cluster. Assuming that you have two instances running with ExpressCluster, perform the following steps to create a basic cluster:
- Open a web browser on the same subnet as the ExpressCluster servers
- Enter the following URL to access the cluster Web UI:
http://<ip address of primary ECX instance>:29003/ - Switch to Config Mode and start and follow the Cluster generation wizard.
For further information about building a cluster, please view documentation here: https://www.nec.com/en/global/prod/expresscluster/en/doc/manual.html
You can also receive assistance in building a cluster. Use SSH with the user name ec2-user to access the OS.
