Usage instructions
A newly created instance of NCache requires some configuration modification to function properly. These modifications can be verified through the following steps: -Connect to your instance through a remote desktop. -If you don't know the IP address of your machine, open the command prompt. Type 'ipconfig' and hit 'ENTER'. Please note this IP down. -Open "C:\Program Files\NCache\bin\service\Alachisoft.NCache.Service.exe.config" file in Notepad. "NCacheServer.BindToClusterIP" and "NCacheServer.BindToClientServerIP" values should be same as machine assigned IP. -If you want to use the pre-configured sample caches, then verify that the machine assigned IP has been replaced in following two files as well: "C:\Program Files\NCache\config\config.ncconf" "C:\Program Files\NCache\config\client.ncconf" -Your NCache service should be running. Open Windows Service Console (services.msc). Find the 'NCache' service and make sure it's running.
Note : If due to some reasons start-up scripts fail to run, then you have to apply above changes manually. Please make sure that NCache service is restarted after applying config changes. It is highly recommended to use static IPs. In case of dynamic IPs , all of above mentioned steps would be required after every machine restarts.
To allow NCache to communicate with other NCache instances (servers or clients), you need to open TCP ports in Windows Firewall settings. Use the following link to learn about the ports: https://www.alachisoft.com/resources/docs/ncache-oss/getting-started-guide-windows/open-firewall-tcp.html
