AWS Operational Readiness Assessment

The AWS Operational Readiness Assessment equips you with the most recent and valuable expertise on running your applications on AWS. It will help you save time and avoid typical mistakes. 
The focus of the engagement is knowledge sharing, ideation, gap analysis and planning. The engagement can be scoped to one workload, a set of related workloads or a platform (incl. a Landing Zone) and can be delivered either as an on-site, hybrid or remote event. The participants will learn:

• the AWS recommendations, design principles and best practices for operations
• the main operating models for cloud-based workloads
• how to implement centralized operations and governance including the respective AWS services
• how central IT teams can support the more self-sufficient application teams in future

To create tangible results, the deep-dive includes discussions about your specific setup. With your team we will

• evaluate your maturity and readiness for operating AWS based workloads
• identify the gaps, prioritize and propose activities to close them
• review your toolset for operations and what changes need to be implemented to support AWS based workloads while leveraging your existing capabilities
• create a checklist for application Go-Lives (custom operational readiness lens)

We will go through all areas of operational excellence, from Organizational Setup to the different operations phases Prepare, Operate and Evolve. All operational functions such as monitoring, backup, access, patching, automation and inventory collection will be covered as well as processes such as incident, configuration and change management. The workshop can be nicely combined with a hands-on part (immersion day) where the attendees will practice in labs how to use AWS services such as SSM (the swiss army knife for AWS based operations and systems management), Cloudwatch, Config, Service Catalog or Backup.

As a result of this one-day event, participants will have the knowledge and a plan which steps to take next to best run your applications on AWS.
