    Dimensions summary

This listing bills through a contract with three usage-based dimensions. You pick either the Standard Plan or the Enterprise Plan, both charged by actual usage on a pay-as-you-go basis. Usage is measured in units tied to the data you move, transform, and activate each month. The Overages dimension covers any consumption beyond your committed contract amount. Your spend rate declines as your monthly volume rises, so the two plans differ in rate and included capabilities rather than in billing method. All three dimensions consolidate into one contract.

    Top-of-mind questions for buyers

Usage is measured in monthly active rows (MAR), meaning the distinct primary keys synced in a billing period. A row counts once per period even if it syncs multiple times. Inserts, updates, and deletes count. Unchanged rows in re-syncs and the initial bulk load do not count.
Consumption past your committed contract amount is billed through the Overages dimension. This lets your data movement continue without interruption. Your spend rate still declines as monthly volume rises, so the per-unit rate applied to that extra usage follows the same declining curve as your plan.
Three activities meter usage: connections that move data, transformations that run data models, and activations that push data to destinations. Each is priced separately on its own declining cost curve. All three consolidate into one contract. Connections and activations bill on MAR; transformations bill on successful monthly model runs.

Easy, Straightforward Tool That Marketers Can Pick Up Fast

    Reviewed on Aug 07, 2026
    Review provided by G2
What do you like best about the product?
It’s easy to use and straightforward—simple enough for a marketer to pick up and use without much effort.
What do you dislike about the product?
It occasionally breaks down and requires me to relink it.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Faster business analytics deliver real-time data that helps inform my marketing decisions.

Easy Setup, but Far Too Expensive

    Reviewed on Aug 06, 2026

What do you like best about the product?
EDIT: I spoke with their product success team post-review and they genuinely did try to solve my problem, but they confirmed we were using the product correctly.

For event based systems like ours at Potions (we're an email product, kind of like Mailchimp on auto-pilot) we emit a lot of "small" event data like opens/clicks, and that tends to eat up MARs pretty fast. Better to build the solution in-house in these cases. Fivetran is probably better for lower volume/larger row data.

Their pricing hits an interesting "logarithmic curve" that we seemed to be nearing the peak of. I'd imagine folks with more volume & revenue than us might be fine using it, so I'm bumping my review to a 4.
What do you dislike about the product?
I still think small company pricing should be a lottttt more generous at our data volume; this has gotta be a rounding error of volume for you guys :(
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
ETL!!! For like 1gb of data.

Effortless Data Integration with Robust Security

    Reviewed on Aug 05, 2026
    Review provided by G2
What do you like best about the product?
I like Fivetran for its ease of use, security, and robustness. Setting up Fivetran connectors is straightforward with good documentation, which makes it very easy to use. I really appreciate the enterprise-level security with Microsoft Entra and OData integration, as it gives us confidence that our data is safe. Additionally, Fivetran connectors have been very reliable, and I find it very helpful that we are instantly notified if there are any pipeline issues. The cost, ease of use, and better audit trails were significant factors for us switching from Openflow to Fivetran.
What do you dislike about the product?
On the email connector, I wish there was support for HTML or JSON body rather than just attachments. Also, I'd like to see support for custom tables on the Acumatica connector.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use Fivetran to create pipelines from our Sharepoint site and ERP system. It makes setting up connectors straightforward with great documentation, ensuring security with Microsoft Entra, and provides reliable notifications for pipeline issues.

Reliable Infrastructure, but Pricing and Renewals Feel Unfair

    Reviewed on Aug 04, 2026
    Review provided by G2
What do you like best about the product?
It's a reliable piece of infrastructure that I can have faith it is well engineered and supported.
What do you dislike about the product?
Pricing often seems unfair. Especially when it comes time for annual renewals, it always feels like we're playing a game where Fivetran is our opponent and is constantly making new rules.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Free-tier connectors that I would pay more for elsewhere.

    Effortless Data Integration with Fivetran

    Reviewed on Jul 27, 2026
    Review provided by G2
What do you like best about the product?
I like that for the first 14 days, Fivetran offers a grace period where I can change the schema as much as needed, which really helped us in scoping out our requirements without being billed for just trying to understand the data. This feature allowed us to explore how the entire data flow would look like in the future. It's also great that instead of manually dumping data into our AWS S3, Fivetran handles that for us, which feels like a Quality of Life upgrade. Additionally, I found the initial setup to be extremely easy. Overall, it's one of the smoother tools I've used recently.
What do you dislike about the product?
Initially, I had a complaint that it does not allow us to send data back to the client's CRM, but they have solved that recently. No other major complaints. Maybe one more thing - I'm not sure if this is already there - but having an API that can be integrated with other applications like Slack or Databricks, so we can trigger system syncs without opening the system.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Fivetran lets us access clients' CRM data directly, avoiding AWS S3 uploads, and refresh data throughout the day. Its grace period for schema changes helped us explore data flows without billing worries.
