AWS Marketplace now accepts line of credit payments through the PNC Vendor Finance program. This program is available to select AWS customers in the US, excluding NV, NC, ND, TN, & VT.
Try this product free for 21 days according to the free trial terms set by the vendor. Usage-based pricing is in effect for usage beyond the free trial terms. Your free trial gets automatically converted to a paid subscription when the trial ends, but may be canceled any time before that.
You pay by the hour based on the AWS EC2 instance you run this load balancer on. Pricing is not tiered by features. Instead, each dimension maps to a specific instance type across the m5, c5, and r5 families, plus their local-storage d variants. Larger instance sizes carry more compute, memory, or storage, so cost scales with the instance you select. There is no upfront commitment. Billing follows actual hourly usage, which suits variable or seasonal traffic. The MAX edition provides uncapped throughput, so you size capacity by choosing the instance rather than a throughput plan.
Top-of-mind questions for buyers
What resource does one hourly charge map to for this load balancer?
Each dimension maps to one running AWS EC2 instance of a specific type, such as m5.large or c5.9xlarge. You are billed per hour that instance runs. The instance family and size set the compute, memory, and storage available to the load balancer software.
Am I charged when the instance is stopped or powered off, for example a standby site?
The software charge is metered hourly against running instance time. Stopped or powered-off instances do not accrue software charges. AWS may still bill underlying storage for stopped instances, but the load balancer software meters running hours only. This suits seasonal or bursty demand.
How does hourly usage billing work compared with committing upfront?
Hourly billing meters actual instance-hours with no upfront commitment on consumption. You are billed only for the hours each instance runs, directly through the cloud provider, with support included. This model fits workloads with variable or seasonal traffic that need extra capacity for limited periods.

An AMI is a virtual image that provides the information required to launch an instance. Amazon EC2 (Elastic Compute Cloud) instances are virtual servers on which you can run your applications and workloads, offering varying combinations of CPU, memory, storage, and networking resources. You can launch as many instances from as many different AMIs as you need.
(1) Start a new EC2 instance from AWS console
(2) Launch Kemp VLM instance
(3) Configure instance details
(4) Select VPC and Public IP in network options
(5) Specify security group with port 8443 defined at a minimum
(6) Specify key pair to be used for initial SSH access
(7) Connect to LoadMaster via SSH for initial licensing and setup
(8) Change password. Default username is 'bal' and initial password will be the 'Instance ID' of the VM instance.
(9) Connect to LoadMaster via Web User Interface by using the appropriate assigned IP address and continue configuration for your application environment.
