This product has charges associated with it for the provision and deployment of the application and AMI support.
Private AI Document Intelligence Server with Docling by Optick is a ready to launch AWS Marketplace AMI for document conversion, document intelligence, and AI ready content preparation. It is designed for teams that need to turn private business documents into structured outputs for AI search, RAG pipelines, knowledge bases, AI agents, and internal automation workflows.
This AMI includes Docling Serve running on Ubuntu 26.04 with Docker Compose and Nginx. Customers can use the branded Optick Converter for a simplified upload, convert, download, and optional S3 export workflow. Advanced users can also access the Docling Web UI and API documentation for deeper configuration and integration. Supported workflows include document conversion to Markdown, structured Docling output, hybrid RAG chunk generation, hierarchical RAG chunk generation, and S3 export through the customers own EC2 IAM role.
The server is designed for public IP based first launch use, so customers do not need a domain name to begin. First boot automation generates a fresh web login password, creates customer specific first login instructions, starts all services, and prepares the product for immediate browser access. The AMI includes helper commands for status checks, service logs, password reset, S3 setup, S3 validation, and test conversion.
This product is useful for AI teams, developers, data teams, knowledge management teams, compliance teams, and organizations preparing private document collections for AI workflows. It reduces the time needed to install, configure, secure, and expose a document intelligence stack on AWS. This is a repackaged open source software product wherein additional charges are applied for the deployment of the application and AMI support and compliance.

AWS Marketplace now accepts line of credit payments through the PNC Vendor Finance program. This program is available to select AWS customers in the US, excluding NV, NC, ND, TN, & VT.
Pricing is based on a fixed subscription cost and actual usage of the product. You pay the same amount each billing period for access, plus an additional amount according to how much you consume. The fixed subscription cost is prorated, so you're only charged for the number of days you've been subscribed. Subscriptions have no end date and may be canceled any time.
Additional AWS infrastructure costs may apply. Use the AWS Pricing Calculator to estimate your infrastructure costs.
You pay by the hour for the software, and billing is tied to the AWS EC2 instance type you choose to run it on. The 22 options are instance sizes, not feature tiers — each one carries the same document processing software. They span several EC2 families, including burstable (t3, t3a), compute-optimized (c5d, c5n, c6a), and memory- or network-focused types (m5n, m5zn). Within each family, pricing scales with instance size, from medium and large up to larger multi-core sizes. Pick the size that matches your processing load; you run and pay only while the instance is active.
Top-of-mind questions for buyers
Am I charged when the instance is stopped or paused?
Software charges apply per hour while the instance runs. A fully stopped instance stops accruing software charges. Note that AWS may still bill for attached storage on a stopped instance, but the hourly software fee meters only running time.
What do I actually get when I pick an instance type like c6a.4xlarge?
Each option maps to one running AWS EC2 instance of that size. The instance hosts the document processing software. Instance size sets the CPU and memory available. Pick a instance that matches your processing load; the software itself is identical across all sizes.
Which document formats can the software process once deployed?
The software parses many formats, including PDF, office documents, HTML, e-books, images, audio, and video. It handles page layout, table structure, and scanned document OCR. Hourly cost does not change with format type; you pay only for the instance running time.

An AMI is a virtual image that provides the information required to launch an instance. Amazon EC2 (Elastic Compute Cloud) instances are virtual servers on which you can run your applications and workloads, offering varying combinations of CPU, memory, storage, and networking resources. You can launch as many instances from as many different AMIs as you need.
