EDINET DB is an independent third-party SaaS API and MCP server for normalized financial, shareholder, and IR disclosure data on Japanese listed companies. It covers 3,800+ currently listed companies plus retained history for 4,600+ including delisted issuers, and is not affiliated with Japan's Financial Services Agency or the EDINET system.
EDINET DB turns Japanese statutory filings and company IR disclosures into developer-ready, AI-ready data. We normalize securities reports, quarterly disclosures, and selected IR materials into consistent, queryable structures so you can skip the scraping, XBRL parsing, and manual cleanup.
Coverage spans 3,800+ currently listed companies, and 4,600+ once you include delisted companies whose history we retain. It includes financial statements, segment data, shareholder structure and history, cross-shareholdings, director and executive compensation, subsidiaries and parent relationships, related-party transactions, corporate history, KPI track records, and source references back to the original filings to support review, reconciliation, and citation.
Two ways to consume the same data:
REST API: predictable JSON endpoints for dashboards, screeners, and pipelines.
MCP server: connect ChatGPT, Claude, or your own agents directly, and let them query Japanese disclosure data in natural language without a custom integration.
EDINET DB is an independent third-party service by Cabocia Inc.; it is not affiliated with Japan's Financial Services Agency or the EDINET system, and the data is provided for informational purposes only (not investment advice).
Highlights
Clean, normalized financials. Securities reports and quarterly disclosures parsed from XBRL into consistent JSON: statements, segments, shareholders, executive compensation, subsidiaries, and more across 3,800+ currently listed companies (4,600+ including delisted history).
Built for AI agents. A first-class MCP server lets Claude, ChatGPT, and custom agents query Japanese disclosure data in natural language, alongside a standard REST API for traditional pipelines and dashboards.
Source-traceable. Where available, each data point carries a source reference back to the original filing, so you can review, reconcile, and cite the numbers you ship.

Business
For teams. Includes 10,000 API requests per day, Slack notifications, team sharing, and additional dashboard modules, with full access to both the REST API and the MCP server.
You choose between two contract tiers based on how many people use the data and how many API requests you need each day. The Pro tier suits individuals and small teams with a lower daily request limit. The Business tier suits larger teams with a higher daily request limit and adds team sharing, notification options, and extra dashboard modules. Both tiers give you access to the REST API and the MCP server, so the tiers scale by usage volume and team features rather than by data source.
Top-of-mind questions for buyers
What counts as one API request against my daily limit?
Each call to the REST API counts as one request against your daily total. The MCP server connects AI assistants to the same data, and those queries also draw from your daily request count. The counter resets each day, and both the REST API and MCP server share one limit.
What happens if I hit my daily request limit before the day ends?
Each tier caps daily requests: 1,000 per day on Pro and 10,000 per day on Business. Once you reach the cap, you wait for the daily reset or move to a tier with a higher limit. For specifics on how requests are handled at the cap, contact the vendor.
Besides the daily request limit, what else changes between the two tiers?
Business adds features Pro does not include: Slack-style notifications, team sharing, and extra dashboard modules. Pro provides monthly notification digests instead. Both tiers give you the REST API and the MCP server, so you pay more for higher volume and added team collaboration features, not for different data.
