EDINET DB - Financial Data API & MCP for Japanese Listed Companies

     Info
    Sold by: Cabocia
EDINET DB is an independent third-party SaaS API and MCP server for normalized financial, shareholder, and IR disclosure data on Japanese listed companies. It covers 3,800+ currently listed companies plus retained history for 4,600+ including delisted issuers, and is not affiliated with Japan's Financial Services Agency or the EDINET system.

    Overview

EDINET DB turns Japanese statutory filings and company IR disclosures into developer-ready, AI-ready data. We normalize securities reports, quarterly disclosures, and selected IR materials into consistent, queryable structures so you can skip the scraping, XBRL parsing, and manual cleanup.

Coverage spans 3,800+ currently listed companies, and 4,600+ once you include delisted companies whose history we retain. It includes financial statements, segment data, shareholder structure and history, cross-shareholdings, director and executive compensation, subsidiaries and parent relationships, related-party transactions, corporate history, KPI track records, and source references back to the original filings to support review, reconciliation, and citation.

Two ways to consume the same data: REST API: predictable JSON endpoints for dashboards, screeners, and pipelines. MCP server: connect ChatGPT, Claude, or your own agents directly, and let them query Japanese disclosure data in natural language without a custom integration.

EDINET DB is an independent third-party service by Cabocia Inc.; it is not affiliated with Japan's Financial Services Agency or the EDINET system, and the data is provided for informational purposes only (not investment advice).

    Highlights

    • Clean, normalized financials. Securities reports and quarterly disclosures parsed from XBRL into consistent JSON: statements, segments, shareholders, executive compensation, subsidiaries, and more across 3,800+ currently listed companies (4,600+ including delisted history).
    • Built for AI agents. A first-class MCP server lets Claude, ChatGPT, and custom agents query Japanese disclosure data in natural language, alongside a standard REST API for traditional pipelines and dashboards.
    • Source-traceable. Where available, each data point carries a source reference back to the original filing, so you can review, reconcile, and cite the numbers you ship.

     Info

    Dimensions summary

You choose a contract based on team size and daily API usage. Pro fits individuals and small teams with 1,000 requests per day. Developer covers one named developer with 10,000 requests per day and adds Web UI access. Business serves teams with 10,000 requests per day plus team sharing. The three corporate contracts scale by user count and daily request limits: 10 users at 10,000, 15 users at 15,000, and 20 users at 20,000 requests per day. These corporate options add invoice billing, procurement support, and person-level data after a purpose review, with no setup fee.

    Top-of-mind questions for buyers

Each call to the REST API or a query through the MCP server counts as one request. The MCP server connects AI assistants like chat-based tools directly to the data. Both channels draw from the same daily pool, which resets each day per your plan's limit.
The corporate contracts pool one daily request limit across all named users. Ten users share 10,000 requests per day, 15 users share 15,000, and 20 users share 20,000. There is no per-user cap. Any user's calls draw from the shared daily total.
The 10, 15, and 20 license contracts add invoice billing and procurement support. They also allow access to person-level data, such as director records, after a purpose review. This person-level data is not part of the Pro, Developer, or single Business plans.
