You pay by the hour for the EC2 instance you run this database stack on. Each dimension maps to a specific AWS instance type, and the hourly rate reflects that instance's size and capabilities. Smaller instances like t3.nano cost less per hour, while large memory, compute, storage, or GPU instances cost more. You choose the instance that fits your workload, then billing runs through your AWS account for the hours the instance stays active. The software runs on a single EBS volume, so pricing scales with your chosen instance rather than with data volumes or user counts.

What does one billing unit cover, and what runs on the instance I choose?
One unit is one hour that your chosen EC2 instance stays active. The instance runs a plug-and-play stack of MongoDB 7, InfluxDB 2, and MySQL 8 on a single EBS volume, plus a management UI. The hourly software rate ties to the instance type you select.
Am I charged when the instance is stopped or paused?
Software charges accrue only while the instance runs. Fully stopped instances do not accrue hourly software fees. However, the attached EBS volume storing your MongoDB, InfluxDB, and MySQL data may still incur AWS storage charges while the instance is stopped. Restarting resumes hourly software billing.
If I move to a different instance type, does my hourly cost change automatically?
Yes. Your hourly rate follows the instance type you launch. Switching to a compute, memory, storage, or GPU instance changes the rate to that instance's listed price. The change takes effect when you run the new instance. You control the switch; it is not automatic.
