Options span general purpose (m, t), compute-optimized (c), memory-optimized (r, x, z, u), storage (d, i, h), and GPU or accelerated families (g, p, inf, trn). You can switch instance types as your needs change.
Top-of-mind questions for buyers
Each hourly rate covers the Oracle Linux 7 image bundled with a security agent, plus updates, firewalls, and network protocols. The software runs on the Amazon EC2 instance you launch. Standard AWS infrastructure charges for that instance apply separately from this software fee.
The software fee meters only running instance-hours. A stopped or paused instance does not accrue software charges. You may still owe underlying AWS storage fees for that instance, but the software licence bills active running time.
The rate maps to the specific EC2 instance type you launch. Each line in the table matches one instance type. Launching a larger compute, memory, storage, or GPU instance carries a higher hourly rate. Switching instance types changes the rate you pay going forward.
