This professional service covers the end-to-end deployment, security hardening, and ongoing managed operations of SAP ERP workloads on AWS specifically built on Amazon EC2 for the SAP application layer and SAP HANA database, Amazon EBS for storage, Amazon VPC for network isolation, Amazon S3 and AWS Backup for data protection, and Amazon CloudWatch, Amazon GuardDuty, Amazon Inspector, and AWS CloudTrail for monitoring, security, and audit logging. WIPL's engagement spans three areas of work. For infrastructure, WIPL assesses SAP workload requirements and right-sizes the AWS environment, setting up IAM roles and policies, a VPC with subnets, route tables, and security groups, EC2 instances for the SAP Business Client and SAP HANA DB, EBS volumes, and Elastic IPs, then configures CloudWatch and CloudTrail for operational visibility, with ongoing support for scaling the environment as requirements evolve. For security, WIPL implements security groups, network ACLs, and IAM access controls alongside encryption for data at rest and in transit, OS patch management, GuardDuty and Inspector-based threat detection, vulnerability scanning, and incident response. For backup and disaster recovery, WIPL configures AWS Backup and Amazon S3 with defined schedules, retention policies, and tested recovery plans, including image-level backups of the SAP instances up to three times daily, plus a cost-optimisation review of the backup infrastructure. The service runs under a managed, shared responsibility model: AWS provides the underlying infrastructure and its own service level agreements; WIPL provides the engineering, operations, and support through a helpdesk with a structured 24x7 escalation path. Customers retain full access to their AWS account and SAP licences throughout. This service does not include SAP software development or customisation, SAP or third party licence procurement, industry specific regulatory compliance work, or application data migration, which remains the customer's SAP team's responsibility.
