Highlight is the open source, fullstack monitoring platform. Session replay, error monitoring, logging, and tracing give you complete insights into your applications.
Highlight is building an open source observability distribution that focuses on "cohesion" or connecting the frontend with downstream server-side issues.
The product has seen organic growth in the modern JS ecosystem (NextJS, Remix, etc.) where they have hundreds of startups as customers.
And in enterprise, Highlight serves various companies ranging from healthcare to e-commerce, who choose the product for its open-source core: e.g. easy adoption with specifications like OTEL and a flexible storage/compute architecture.
Highlights
Session Replay: Monitor your frontend with pixel-perfect video replay & comprehensive javascript monitoring.
Error Monitoring: Error and exception monitoring built for modern web apps.
Application Performance Monitoring: Search for and query the logs across your full-stack web app. Understand code execution and latency.
AWS Marketplace now accepts line of credit payments through the PNC Vendor Finance program. This program is available to select AWS customers in the US, excluding NV, NC, ND, TN, & VT.
Pricing is based on the duration and terms of your contract with the vendor, and additional usage. You pay upfront or in installments according to your contract terms with the vendor. This entitles you to a specified quantity of use for the contract duration. Usage-based pricing is in effect for overages or additional usage not covered in the contract. These charges are applied on top of the contract price. If you choose not to renew or replace your contract before the contract end date, access to your entitlements will expire.
Additional AWS infrastructure costs may apply. Use the AWS Pricing Calculator to estimate your infrastructure costs.
This contract combines six independent usage dimensions, so you pay for each type of monitoring data you send. You are billed per 1,000 sessions ingested, per 1,000 errors ingested, and per 1,000 metrics ingested. Logs and traces are billed per 1 million ingested. A separate Members dimension charges by the number of user accounts. These dimensions are not tiers; each scales on its own with your actual volume. Your total reflects the sum of the data you ingest plus the seats you provision, giving you control over each category separately.
Top-of-mind questions for buyers
What counts as one session, error, log, trace, or metric for billing?
Each dimension meters ingested data. Sessions are recorded user visits captured through the SDK. Errors are exceptions sent from your client or server. Logs and traces are individual records forwarded from your application. Metrics are measurement data points. You are counted only on volume that reaches the platform.
Which dimension usually drives the largest part of my bill?
It depends on your workload. High-traffic frontends push session and error volume. Backend-heavy apps generate more logs and traces, billed per 1 million ingested. Metrics scale with monitored measurements. Members scale with team size. All six charges apply independently and add up on one invoice.
What happens to my cost if my ingested data volume drops one month?
Each usage dimension scales with actual ingestion, so lower session, error, log, trace, or metric volume reduces those charges. There are no tier steps that lock in higher rates. The Members charge stays tied to the number of user accounts you provision, separate from data volume.

Vendor refund policy
Pre-paid contracts for any of the products will not be refunded. Usage-based metering will end on the day of contract cancellation, with the remainder of the charges from the current billing period needing to be paid out by the customer.
