Overview
A robust Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) tailored for the Internet of Things (IoT) represents a critical component in ensuring the security and integrity of interconnected devices in our increasingly digitized world. By leveraging both commodity hardware and cloud infrastructure, such a PKI solution can offer scalability, flexibility, and accessibility to a wide array of IoT applications and deployments. At its core, this PKI system would facilitate the secure exchange of data and communication between IoT devices, enabling authentication, encryption, and integrity verification. With the proliferation of IoT devices across various industries and domains, ranging from smart homes to industrial automation, the need for a scalable and adaptable security framework becomes paramount. By incorporating commodity hardware, such as low-cost microcontrollers and sensors, alongside cloud-based services, this PKI can cater to the diverse requirements of IoT deployments, whether they are constrained by resource limitations or demand high computational power for cryptographic operations.
Highlights
- Device Lifecycle Management: Streamlines certificate provisioning, renewal, and revocation for IoT devices from deployment to decommissioning, enhancing security and reducing operational complexity throughout the device lifecycle.
- Custom CA Creation and Monitoring: Empowers organizations to establish custom Certificate Authorities, with robust monitoring and auditing capabilities ensuring compliance, trust, and accountability in certificate issuance and usage.
- Integration with IoT Platforms: Seamlessly integrates with various IoT platforms, facilitating secure communication, identity management, and certificate deployment, fostering agility and compatibility across heterogeneous IoT environments.

64-bit (x86) Amazon Machine Image (AMI)
Amazon Machine Image (AMI)
An AMI is a virtual image that provides the information required to launch an instance. Amazon EC2 (Elastic Compute Cloud) instances are virtual servers on which you can run your applications and workloads, offering varying combinations of CPU, memory, storage, and networking resources. You can launch as many instances from as many different AMIs as you need.

Usage instructions
-
Launch a web browser and navigate to the EC2 instance's IP or DNS name using the HTTPS protocol. This will redirect you to the authentication platform.
-
Log in using the username "lamassu" and the instance ID as the password. Upon logging in, you will be prompted to change the user's password.
-
It is highly recommended that you also change the admin user password. To do so, visit the following URL: https://<EC2's IP or DNS name>/auth/admin/master/console/. Use "admin" as the username and the instance ID as the password. The system will require you to change this password after the first login.
-
For any additional changes to Lamassu's configuration, log in to the EC2 instance using the "ubuntu" user. Refer to Lamassu's helm release information for any configuration doubts: https://github.com/lamassuiot/lamassu-helm .
-
You are now ready to PKI!
