You pay by the hour for the software running on your chosen Amazon EC2 instance type. Pricing is not tiered by features. Instead, each dimension maps to a specific EC2 instance size, so your rate depends on the compute you select. Options span general-purpose, compute-optimized, memory-optimized, storage-optimized, and GPU-accelerated families, in sizes from small to metal. Larger instances carry higher hourly rates because they provide more CPU, memory, or specialized resources. You stop paying when you stop the instance, and you can switch instance types to adjust cost and capacity.
Top-of-mind questions for buyers
What do I get for the hourly rate on my chosen EC2 instance type?
You get the Websoft9 DevOps Platform running as a pre-configured EC2 image, with Gogs, a self-hosted Git service for code repositories. The instance type you pick sets the CPU, memory, and specialized resources available. The software is deployed and managed through the Websoft9 console.
Am I charged for the software when the EC2 instance is stopped?
Hourly software charges accrue only while the instance runs. When you stop the instance, software charges stop. Stopped instances may still incur underlying AWS storage fees for attached volumes, but the software meter tracks running time only.
How is the software charge affected by which instance family or size I choose?
Each dimension maps to one specific EC2 instance type. Your total is the hourly software rate for that type multiplied by the hours you run it. Choosing a larger or specialized family, such as GPU-accelerated, changes the rate. Only the type you launch is billed.
