Centralized lifecycle data has improved real-time collaboration and kept complex projects on track

    Reviewed on May 21, 2026
    Review provided by PeerSpot

What is our primary use case?

My main use case for Siemens PLM TeamCenter  is having information in real-time, so all teams work together, from engineering design and CAD , product documents, and technical drawings to billing and materials; everything is in one place. If we have to do product changes and approvals, quality and compliance records are all included, as it helps during the whole lifecycle with each department for a product.

A specific example of how I used Siemens PLM TeamCenter  in a project is that having all the information, especially working on a product with all the drawings and details, is beneficial, but the biggest advantage is that everything is in one place. When we have to make product changes and get approvals from engineers and different departments, that is my favorite part. Often, when creating a product from the beginning stages to the end, we change things, and the system keeps everything in one place while working seamlessly with all other departments. When we need to make changes and get approvals, it is in real-time, making our job really easy for collaboration.

    What is most valuable?

The best features Siemens PLM TeamCenter offers include the single source of truth, where everyone works from the same account for product information, making it stand out above other programs.

The single source of truth helped my team by ensuring everybody was working from one place; we didn't have multiple drawings and information scattered around. It kept us focused, everything was in one area, and we could see changes and the lifecycle in real-time while using the program.

It was really easy to use; easy to understand from version control to change management to BOM management, making it really good for planning things from beginning stages to the end and everything in between, all in one place.

Siemens PLM TeamCenter has positively impacted my organization by saving a lot of time, allowing us to keep things in one place, and helping us stay on top of our deadlines with integrating the system.

    What needs improvement?

One of the improvements I would suggest for Siemens PLM TeamCenter is making the interface easier to use. It is powerful, but it can feel complex for new users trying to get familiar with the program.

I think having better tutorials, videos, trainings, and scenarios tailored for different users, depending on their roles such as engineers, would be really good. They probably exist, but enhancing this aspect could be beneficial.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been using Siemens PLM TeamCenter for about three years.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

    Siemens PLM TeamCenter is stable.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

    Its scalability is really good.

How are customer service and support?

Customer support for Siemens PLM TeamCenter is very helpful and supportive; they always got back to me within a day or two.

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

We did not previously use a different solution.

    How was the initial setup?

I didn't have much to do in the area of pricing, setup costs, and licensing, but from what I heard from colleagues, they said it was pretty seamless, really easy, and they were able to make a decision pretty fast.

    What was our ROI?

We have seen a return on investment; we have reduced the number of employees due to the system. While I don't have an exact number, we have saved a lot of money and fewer licenses of programs we used in the past because this encompasses everything. It has saved time and made our processes easier, with everything in one place and secure. All the information needed to do the work is within our system, making it a game changer for sure.

Which other solutions did I evaluate?

We did evaluate other options before choosing Siemens PLM TeamCenter. While I wasn't part of the decision-making process, this program stood out more than the rest regarding cost, functionality, features, and what we needed, aligning well with what we bring to the table in terms of departments and requirements.

What other advice do I have?

Back in the old days when we were all over the place, using multiple systems resulted in us often missing deadlines by a month. It was hard. But with this system, we can keep everything in one place, see things in real-time, and involve all the departments participating in this life cycle. It literally allows us to get things done on time and efficiently.

I recommend Siemens PLM TeamCenter if you're looking for a system to help with your product life cycle and for all departments to work in one space, having everything you need. I have given this product a rating of eight out of ten.

Centralized design data has streamlined upgrades and reviews but training still needs improvement

    Reviewed on May 16, 2026
Review from a verified AWS customer

What is our primary use case?

My main use case for Siemens PLM TeamCenter  is for data migration and for upgrading parts of the different hardware. I work in aerospace-related projects, so my work involves updating the review parts and checking out similar upgradations.

Recently, in a project related to Siemens PLM TeamCenter , we had to cross-check between TeamCenter and the data in the original website. We migrated some of the SQL-related data and cross-checked it with the website data to see whether the data was migrating from TeamCenter to the website correctly, including the cloud part.

Siemens PLM TeamCenter has many use cases. It has a BMIDE where you can add use cases. You can customize Siemens PLM TeamCenter according to your company's requirements. There are many use cases available, including an upgradation part. You can accomplish a lot of things in Siemens PLM TeamCenter. It is specifically designed by Siemens. There are a lot of PLM tools available in the market, and TeamCenter is developed by Siemens, along with other options such as Inovia.

    What is most valuable?

The best features that Siemens PLM TeamCenter offers are that it is user-friendly and easily accessible. The server will not go down. TeamCenter is available most of the time because it is backed by Siemens, and you can trust it completely.

For customization, Siemens PLM TeamCenter has two things: the  RAC and AWC, which is user interface customization. With this functionality, if you are working for a company, you can design a similar web page related to that company name, which makes it more user-friendly. You can customize it according to your needs, and this is what I consider to be a stand-out feature in Siemens PLM TeamCenter.

Siemens PLM TeamCenter has positively impacted my organization by organizing a lot of things into one platform. You can view a lot of data at a time. Additionally, if there is any upgradation, the specialty is that if you have upgraded a part in an airplane, the next time you make a change in that part, it will keep the old data intact and will upgrade another instance where it will store the revision as A. The next part is stored as revision B, and the next part is stored as revision C. This means you have the whole history of the part, and you can revisit it at any time or roll back to it if you find that the latest version is not suited to your needs.

    What needs improvement?

Siemens PLM TeamCenter can be improved in that it is not a beginner-friendly software. You need to have some basic prerequisites, such as understanding what TeamCenter is, what product lifecycle management is, and what PLM entails. Without having this basic information, you cannot directly thrive in it. You need to have some minimum IT knowledge to get into PLM.

The interface of Siemens PLM TeamCenter should be more user-friendly.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been using Siemens PLM TeamCenter for about a year now.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

Siemens PLM TeamCenter is stable almost all the time.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

The scalability of Siemens PLM TeamCenter is very good. You can expand it to many users and handle numerous users. You can add as many users as you want and can use the group management feature as well. There are specific roles, so you can set the accessibility rights to determine who can have access to which type of data. Scalability is very good.

How are customer service and support?

Customer support for Siemens PLM TeamCenter is accessible through a dedicated website related to the help center, where previous issues faced by others are listed.

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

Before choosing Siemens PLM TeamCenter, I did not evaluate other options. I directly started working with Siemens PLM TeamCenter because when I joined TCS , Tata Consultancy Services , I was directly trained on Siemens PLM TeamCenter and was deployed into a project related to TeamCenter.

    What was our ROI?

A lot of time is being saved because with Siemens PLM TeamCenter, the client can visit the data anytime. All the revisions are available instantly, and because of the SQL server, the data gets loaded instantly. Employee count can also be reduced because of this, possibly by twenty to thirty percent.

What other advice do I have?

My advice for others looking into using Siemens PLM TeamCenter is that if you manage it smoothly, it will give you the automatic response you need. If you throw a large amount of data into it, then it will slow down a little bit. Operating within the limits of the software will ensure you have a good experience.

I find myself using the rollback or revision history feature of Siemens PLM TeamCenter not very often. Upgradation takes place only with better features, and there are some cases where an error or bug goes unnoticed during testing, so sometimes we roll back. This happens maybe once or twice a year. I would rate this review seven out of ten.

Collaboration features have streamlined bom management and have simplified cross‑team reviews

    Reviewed on May 12, 2026
    Review provided by PeerSpot

What is our primary use case?

My main use case for Siemens PLM TeamCenter  is for the engineering bill of material, design bill of material, manufacturing bill of material, and service bill of material. I am quite familiar with and have implemented the end-to-end new product development life cycle from the beginning through post go-live, sales, and support.

To manage the design BOM effectively, we have created a process where we integrate multiple CAD  applications such as Creo  and CATIA with Siemens PLM TeamCenter . The designer designs something and then directly pushes the data to Siemens PLM TeamCenter where the bill of material is directly linked or aligned with the design BOM they created. We manage a neutral product structure and create an engineering bill of material directly in Siemens PLM TeamCenter.

There are many use cases beyond managing an engineering bill of material. Creating a directly neutral product structure allows designers to avoid manual processes. An automatic bill of material integrates in real time with CAD , enabling the engineering bill of material to be created directly in Siemens PLM TeamCenter, and then we place it into a release cycle to create a manufacturing bill of material through the M-BOM to E-BOM alignment process.

    What is most valuable?

The best feature Siemens PLM TeamCenter offers, which stands out to me most, is the collaboration feature present in the latest version. This feature allows multiple users from various design or manufacturing streams to review designs or any artifacts directly in Siemens PLM TeamCenter through a collaboration platform.

This collaboration feature has changed my workflow by making my review process less formal. Instead of adhering to a formal review process, this informal review allows people from multiple streams to come together on a single platform to discuss any artifact or design, give comments, and those comments convert directly into action items assigned to users. This effectively transforms my informal reviews into a structured system rather than relying solely on formal reviews.

The collaboration feature and Active Workspace in Siemens PLM TeamCenter are quite useful, and my process review streamlining has changed particularly regarding design release process streamlining. This change has greatly benefited my users.

Siemens PLM TeamCenter has positively impacted my organization by streamlining my design cycle or MPD cycle. All my data is housed on a single platform, making Siemens PLM TeamCenter my single source of truth where users can find any item and trace back to designs. It has streamlined my new product development process significantly, as manual work can make tracking or reviewing anything quite challenging.

    What needs improvement?

The complexity of the data model frustrates me the most regarding how Siemens PLM TeamCenter could be improved. It should be more flexible to meet current business needs, especially considering the dynamic business environment and the introduction of AI solutions. The platform must accommodate last-minute business changes easily since rigidity in the data model makes it difficult to implement needed adjustments.

The service bill of material currently requires specific customization, which is an area needing improvement. The module for managing the service bill of material, such as MRO , maintenance, repair, and overhaul, needs better optimization without extensive configuration. If future iterations can deliver this functionality out-of-the-box, it would be greatly appreciated.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been working in my current field for six months, and before that I was part of JSW group for six months. Prior to that, I worked with Hero MotoCorp, L&T Technology Services, and TATA Technologies. Overall, I have nineteen to twenty years of experience on Siemens PLM TeamCenter.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

Siemens PLM TeamCenter is stable and remains stable as a base product.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

Siemens PLM TeamCenter is scalable; however, if my user and data growth is moderate year-on-year, it is essential to consider other factors such as server performance and network bandwidth. These factors impact scalability alongside Siemens PLM TeamCenter's capabilities. If they align with Siemens PLM TeamCenter's metrics, it can be a good solution.

How are customer service and support?

My experience with Siemens PLM TeamCenter's customer support is responsive and helpful, although there is room for improvement. The current support style means that if I raise a ticket, I may wait up to forty-eight hours for a response. If this could be expedited, it would greatly benefit customers.

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

I have not used a different solution because I have worked with Siemens PLM TeamCenter from the beginning of my career, so I am fully committed to it.

    How was the initial setup?

The setup and licensing process for me is straightforward, and I am happy with the services I received during this stage. There is no confusion involved.

    What was our ROI?

We do not have any metrics available for return on investment at this moment because we are a greenfield setup just beginning our PLM implementation. However, I can say that time can be saved since my designers are able to utilize the platform for multiple streams and products. Process optimizations can also lead to reduced development time, although exact metrics will require initial projections or requirements.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

My experience with pricing indicates that the cost is a bit high compared to other PLM platforms available in the market. It would be beneficial if the price could be reduced to match what competitors offer.

Which other solutions did I evaluate?

Before choosing Siemens PLM TeamCenter, we evaluated other options such as 3DEXPERIENCE from Dassault, PTC Windchill , and Aras, and then reached the conclusion to select Siemens PLM TeamCenter.

What other advice do I have?

For others looking to use Siemens PLM TeamCenter, I recommend evaluating it based on your business requirements, your organization's vision for the next five to ten years, and aligning the product modules, licenses, and Siemens PLM TeamCenter costs accordingly before making a decision.

I stress the importance of flexibility in adapting to last-minute business changes in the current technology landscape. If the product can accommodate rapid changes, it will be immensely helpful for users.

I found this interview quite good as it covered all aspects of Siemens PLM TeamCenter, showcasing clarity in the queries and questions asked for the customer. My overall rating for Siemens PLM TeamCenter is eight out of ten.

Streamlined product launches and cross-team collaboration have shortened our development cycles

    Reviewed on May 10, 2026
    Review provided by PeerSpot

What is our primary use case?

My main use case for Siemens PLM TeamCenter  is for CAD  release, storing CAD  data, and integrating it into our procurement system.

For example, in the last project, we created full vehicle data with specific part numbers, and those part numbers are saved in Siemens PLM TeamCenter  with a specific code, which was also shared with the procurement team. With the help of those codes and that data, the PLM team can directly connect with their procurement partner and get that part sourced without intervening in the design system.

    What is most valuable?

The best features Siemens PLM TeamCenter offers include data storage, accessibility, user interface, integration of CAD with ERP  systems, and usability. It is quite useful as it avoids at least two to three different software, and the data storage required is very minimal. Additionally, it is secure.

I rely on the synchronization of data the most on a day-to-day basis as a senior manager working in a design department. We update our data daily, and to check and compare the results of some previous revisions, it is very helpful to store the data in Siemens PLM TeamCenter, revision by revision, allowing me to track any revision or update throughout the product life cycle.

Siemens PLM TeamCenter has positively impacted our organization by reducing the time of product launch. Initially, without Siemens PLM TeamCenter, a launch would take at least seven to eight years. Now, that system has reduced it to about three years, saving two to three years in just one product launch. The greatest contributor to the reduction in product launch time is cross-team collaboration, which is very helpful. Anyone can refer to a specific code and data from Siemens PLM TeamCenter for their reference, and in that way, it saves us design time.

    What needs improvement?

I believe Siemens PLM TeamCenter needs improvement in terms of sluggishness, as it sometimes becomes very sluggish depending on the server.

For temporary users, such as those in procurement, the user interface should be more user-friendly, as their main job or objective would be to transfer data from Siemens PLM TeamCenter to the procurement partner. They do not need a very critical user interface, just one that is understandable to them.

When handling large volumes of data or complex projects, Siemens PLM TeamCenter is somewhat sluggish.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been using Siemens PLM TeamCenter for at least seven to eight years.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

I experienced outages with Siemens PLM TeamCenter just last month, which lasted three days, so it has been quite sluggish at times.

Overall, Siemens PLM TeamCenter is quite stable in my experience, notwithstanding the outages I mentioned.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

Siemens PLM TeamCenter definitely has good scalability and can grow as our organization's needs expand.

How are customer service and support?

Although there are outages, they are very limited, and the support team is excellent.

Which other solutions did I evaluate?

Before choosing Siemens PLM TeamCenter, I believe my team evaluated Enovia, but ultimately they chose Siemens PLM TeamCenter, though I do not have any specific details about the evaluation process.

What other advice do I have?

I would rate Siemens PLM TeamCenter an eight out of ten.

The reason for an eight out of ten is that I find the user interface for other users lacking and there is slowness or sluggishness at times.

Siemens PLM TeamCenter is easy to use and integrates well with other enterprise systems, making it easy to connect with tools such as ERP  and CRM .

Siemens PLM TeamCenter definitely supports collaboration between departments or teams, helping with cross-functional work as it has a unique part number or unique code for each design part, facilitating cross-team collaboration and also saving time.

The documentation and training resources for Siemens PLM TeamCenter are helpful for onboarding new users, although the user interface is quite critical for them.

I advise others looking into using Siemens PLM TeamCenter that it is very useful, and large organizations or OEMs should use it for data integration because it saves a lot of time. It is also quite user-friendly for experienced users. My overall rating for Siemens PLM TeamCenter is eight out of ten.
