This listing uses a single usage-based dimension: akenza Consumption Units. You buy units that draw down as you use the platform and related consumables. Rather than paying for fixed seats or instances, your spend tracks actual activity. Usage drivers include the number of connected devices, data ingestion units for datapoints sent in, and datapoint storage days for data retained. Additional consumables such as signage screens and connectivity also draw from these units. The model scales with your project, so you add units as device counts and data volumes grow.
Top-of-mind questions for buyers
What counts as one data ingestion unit and one datapoint storage day?
One data ingestion unit (DIU) equals one datapoint sent into the platform. One datapoint storage day (DSD) equals one message stored for one day. For example, 10,000 DIUs matches a datapoint sent every 5 minutes for a month. Both draw from your consumption units.
What drives my consumption unit usage the most?
Three factors draw down units: the number of connected devices, data ingestion units for datapoints sent in, and datapoint storage days for data retained. Signage screens and connectivity also consume units. Heavy data senders and long retention periods raise usage faster than low-traffic device fleets.
Does my cost rise when I add devices or send more data?
Yes. Usage tracks actual activity, so adding devices, processing more datapoints, or retaining data longer increases unit consumption. You can expand usage as needed, process additional datapoints, retain sensor data, and add workspaces or dashboards. You pay for what you use.

What do you like best about the product?
Integration of the sensors and visibility on the dashboard are the two main points for me. It's easy to use and clients are usually happy to have their data on the Akenza platform. The link with SmplrSpace is also a good tool.
What do you dislike about the product?
I would say the date picker on the dashboard could be improved
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Platform integration for our sensors

Easy Setup, Stable Platform, and Seamless Swisscom LoRa Integration
Reviewed on Jul 26, 2026
Review provided by G2
What do you like best about the product?
Easy set up, multiple IoT devices connected without any problem. The platform is stable. The dashboard configuration is quite easy. The UI is understandable, supports multiple devices, integration with the Swisscom LORA network makes it a huge plus. The technical support is available and proactive. I did not use any of the rules for the data though. I'm on a free plan, but I would say that the first upgrade is a bit expensive for our purpose. I would appreciate a basic plan for less than 100 CHF. I did not use any IA capabilities so I don't have anything to sa in that respect.
What do you dislike about the product?
I would appreciate a paying option for less than 100 CHF/month.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Akenza allow us to improve our market offer with IoT data that provides real value to our clients.

Intuitive IoT Platform with Strong Support
Reviewed on Feb 08, 2025

What do you like best about the product?
For me, one of the best things about Akenza is that the platform is easy to use and everything just works! There are easy workflows that you can customize (e.g. an off-the-shelf gateway connected to your recently purchased sensor which then pushes all of your collected data via API or email). And the workflows are built with "connectors." Everything is self-explanatory and there is a lot of documentation. I built a custom LoRa device that I was having trouble setting up and the Akenza team helped me set up best IoT practices and is always available when I need them. I've been with Akenza for about 1.5 years and have been sending data from 8 devices for the last year.
What do you dislike about the product?
The basic setup is super intuitive, but diving into more advanced features, like setting up custom integrations, took a bit of trial and error. Some more examples would be helpful.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are a startup with limited capital so Akenza is helping us collect the data we need and push the data to a platform for our clients without needing to invest into backend and frontend infrastructure. This is especially important since we're at a phase where we need to focus on product-market fit and when we might pivot.
