Palantir FedStart is a platform for software companies to deliver their products to U.S. Government agencies quickly, without needing to pursue an onerous and expensive accreditation process. Companies can run and manage their offerings using open-source standards such as Helm Charts within the secure, already-accredited Palantir Federal Cloud Service (PFCS) Kubernetes environment, thereby inheriting the underpinning controls. This can reduce the time required to receive an Authority To Operate (ATO) from years to months or even weeks.

Pricing is based on the duration and terms of your contract with the vendor, and additional usage. You pay upfront or in installments according to your contract terms with the vendor. This entitles you to a specified quantity of use for the contract duration. Usage-based pricing is in effect for overages or additional usage not covered in the contract. These charges are applied on top of the contract price. If you choose not to renew or replace your contract before the contract end date, access to your entitlements will expire.
Additional AWS infrastructure costs may apply. Use the AWS Pricing Calculator to estimate your infrastructure costs.
Palantir FedStart uses a single pricing dimension: the FedStart Subscription Unit. You buy this offering under a contract, with the number of Units set by your subscription. Fees scale with your business usage rather than a fixed flat rate, so cost tracks how much you use the service. This lets you run your software inside an already-accredited federal environment and manage compliance requirements. Because there is one Unit type, pricing does not vary by tier or instance size — you scale by adjusting the quantity of Units in your contract.
Top-of-mind questions for buyers
What does one FedStart Subscription Unit map to for billing?
A FedStart Subscription Unit is the metering item for this offering. Fees scale with your business usage rather than a fixed flat rate, so the number of Units in your contract reflects how much of the service you use. You adjust the quantity of Units to match your usage.
How does my cost change as my usage grows or shrinks?
Costs are tied to business usage, not a fixed cost. When your usage rises, incurred fees rise with it. When usage falls, fees track downward. This means your bill reflects the value gained rather than a set flat amount, and you scale by adjusting Unit quantity in your contract.
What does the FedStart Unit include beyond running my software?
Your Unit covers running your containerized application inside an already-accredited federal environment. The infrastructure manages FIPS-validated encryption, logging, authentication, and vulnerability scanning. It also covers compliance work such as government authorization conversations, compliance artifacts, continuous monitoring, and control assessments handled on your behalf.
