You pay by the hour based on the EC2 instance type you run. Each dimension maps to a specific compute-optimized instance, so your rate scales with the size and generation you pick. Larger sizes (like 24xlarge and 48xlarge) carry more compute capacity than smaller ones (like 8xlarge or 9xlarge). Instance families (c5, c5a, c5ad, c5d, c6i, c6id, c7a, c7i) differ by processor generation and storage options. Every option delivers the same StreamHub software that receives up to 16 channels and includes MoJoPro. You are billed only for the hours your chosen instance runs.
Top-of-mind questions for buyers
What does one hourly unit map to, and how is my compute measured?
Each dimension maps to one running EC2 instance of the named compute-optimized type. You are billed per hour that instance runs. The instance family (c5 through c7i) sets the processor generation, and the size (8xlarge to 48xlarge) sets the compute capacity. Your rate reflects the specific type you launch.
Am I charged when my StreamHub instance is stopped or idle?
Software charges accrue per hour the instance runs. A fully stopped instance does not accrue hourly software charges. Stopped instances may still incur underlying AWS storage fees for attached volumes. To halt software billing, stop the instance when it is not receiving or decoding streams.
What does the StreamHub software include regardless of which instance I choose?
Every instance runs the same StreamHub software with MoJoPro. It receives up to 16 concurrent streams from mobile transmitters, encoders, and the MoJoPro app. It decodes and distributes video to SDI, NDI, ST-2110, SRT, and IP outputs, and supports two-way IFB or intercom with field operators.

An AMI is a virtual image that provides the information required to launch an instance. Amazon EC2 (Elastic Compute Cloud) instances are virtual servers on which you can run your applications and workloads, offering varying combinations of CPU, memory, storage, and networking resources. You can launch as many instances from as many different AMIs as you need.
