You pay by the hour based on the EC2 instance type you choose to run this software. Memory-focused options (r3, r4, r5) fit memory-heavy use. Compute-focused options (c3, c4, c5) handle processing-intensive tasks. Sizes range from nano and micro up to 2xlarge. You scale cost up or down by switching instance types, with no upfront commitment required.
Top-of-mind questions for buyers
The hourly rate covers the software license plus maintenance support, metered per running hour of the EC2 instance you select. You also pay separate AWS infrastructure charges for the instance itself. Each instance type sets its own software rate based on its compute and memory profile.
Software charges meter running time only. A fully stopped instance does not accrue the hourly software fee. Stopped instances may still incur underlying AWS storage fees for attached volumes, but those are separate from this software license.
