Overview
This is a repackaged open source software product wherein additional charges apply for support with Hanwei. MariaDB is an open source relational database management system (RDBMS). It is a branch of the MySQL database, founded by the original MySQL developers, aiming to provide a compatible and more powerful database solution. MariaDB has high compatibility with MySQL and can seamlessly replace the MySQL database. It uses the same client API and protocol as MySQL, so most applications and tools that use MySQL can run directly in MariaDB.
Highlights
- Performance optimization: MariaDB displays excellent performance when processing large databases and high concurrent access through optimization of the database engine. Some optional storage engines such as InnoDB, MyRocks and Aria provide higher performance and throughput.
- Extensibility: MariaDB introduces many new features and extensions to enhance the functionality of the database. It supports partitioning, replication, distribution and other features, easily coping with the needs of data growth and system expansion.
- Security: MariaDB focuses on security and provides more security features such as data encryption, access control, and audit log tracking. It also inherits the powerful authentication function of MySQL to protect the security of user data.
