This is a repackaged open source software product wherein additional charges apply for independent packaging, setup documentation and maintenance by Software Sushi. Ubuntu 24.04 x86_64, first-boot TLS and private access files are included. Software Sushi is independent of the upstream project and does not claim upstream or AWS endorsement.
Launch t3.small with at least 24 GiB encrypted gp3 root storage, IMDSv2 and inbound application ports closed. Connect using Session Manager as ubuntu or SSH restricted to an administrative CIDR. Wait for cloud-init and run sudo -iu ubuntu bash /opt/sushi/docs/demo.sh. Reach the HTTPS service on port 8443 through a Session Manager port-forwarding session or an SSH tunnel. The bundled customer guide explains private access files and your first request.
EC2, EBS and data transfer charges are separate from software charges. Back up customer data before replacing an instance.
Version 0.1.19 bundles the customer launch guide, source and package notices, and real-use walkthrough. Git push, independent clone, pull-request review/merge and complete repository readback after a real reboot were verified on the source AMI. The exact named source copy also passed independent Git and reboot persistence checks. Known issues: the retained complete 17 October 2026 host scan reports 680 High and 104 Critical matches in the pinned kernel. The complete runtime scan reports zero High/Critical and one Unknown match. Complete compiled-component coverage remains unverified, and this version has not passed Software Sushi full security gate. Read https://docs.softwaresushi.com/gitea/operations/#maintenance for the exact scan times, limitations and maintenance guidance before deployment.

AWS Marketplace now accepts line of credit payments through the PNC Vendor Finance program. This program is available to select AWS customers in the US, excluding NV, NC, ND, TN, & VT.
This listing bills on a single usage-based dimension tied to the t3.small instance size, charged by the hour. You pay the software rate for each hour the instance runs, with no upfront commitment or term. Billing scales directly with runtime, so your software cost rises and falls with how long you keep the instance active. AWS infrastructure such as EC2 compute, EBS storage, networking, and data transfer is billed separately from this software charge.
Top-of-mind questions for buyers
What hardware does the t3.small hourly rate cover?
The rate covers software running on a t3.small instance, which provides about 2 GiB RAM. The guide lists this as the minimum starting size with 24 GiB encrypted gp3 root storage. It is a starting size, not a throughput benchmark. You manage the EC2 instance in your own account.
Am I charged software fees when the instance is stopped?
Hourly software charges apply only while the instance runs. A fully stopped instance accrues no software hours. Underlying AWS storage, such as the EBS root volume, may still bill separately. Stop the gitea service for backups, but note that stopping the service alone does not stop instance billing.
What is included in the instance, and what must I add myself?
One instance runs local repositories with a SQLite database and per-instance TLS. You add your own credentials after launch; each instance generates its own secrets on first boot. Registration, SSH Git hosting, LFS, Actions, mailer, external database, high availability, and DNS automation are not configured in this package.

An AMI is a virtual image that provides the information required to launch an instance. Amazon EC2 (Elastic Compute Cloud) instances are virtual servers on which you can run your applications and workloads, offering varying combinations of CPU, memory, storage, and networking resources. You can launch as many instances from as many different AMIs as you need.
