What do I actually get for each hourly rate I select?
Each rate maps to one AWS EC2 instance running the software. The instance type you pick sets its vCPU, memory, and network capacity. For example, a nano or micro size gives fewer resources, while a large or 2xlarge size gives more. You run one instance per hour billed.
Am I charged the hourly software rate when the instance is stopped?
The software rate meters running instance-hours only. When you stop the instance, the hourly software charge stops accruing. Underlying AWS storage and other resource fees may still apply while the instance exists, but the software licence bills active running time.
Can I switch to a different instance size later, and how does that change my bill?
You can launch a different instance type when your resource needs change. Your hourly software rate then follows the new instance type you run. You are billed at the rate matching whichever instance is active, charged per hour of use. Support is included with each option.
