AWS Marketplace now accepts line of credit payments through the PNC Vendor Finance program. This program is available to select AWS customers in the US, excluding NV, NC, ND, TN, & VT.
Pricing is based on actual usage, with charges varying according to how much you consume. Subscriptions have no end date and may be canceled any time. Alternatively, you can pay upfront for a contract, which typically covers your anticipated usage for the contract duration. Any usage beyond contract will incur additional usage-based costs.
Additional AWS infrastructure costs may apply. Use the AWS Pricing Calculator to estimate your infrastructure costs.
You pay by the hour for the running software, priced per Amazon EC2 instance type you choose. The dimensions map to different instance families and sizes, so cost scales with the compute capacity you select. Burstable t2, t3, and t3a instances suit lighter or variable workloads. General-purpose m3 and m4 instances balance compute and memory. Compute-focused c4 instances target processing-heavy needs. Memory-focused r4 and r5 instances handle memory-intensive workloads. Within each family, larger sizes carry higher hourly rates. Billing is usage-based, so you pay only for the hours each instance runs.
Top-of-mind questions for buyers
What does one hourly unit cover for each instance type?
One unit is one running Amazon EC2 instance of the selected type, billed per hour. Each instance size maps to a set amount of virtual CPU and memory. You pay the hourly rate for every hour that instance runs, across every instance you launch.
Am I charged when an instance is stopped or scaled down?
The software rate meters running time only. Instances that are stopped do not accrue software charges. The stack scales across servers during traffic surges, then stops unused servers so you avoid extra hosting costs. Stopped instances may still incur underlying AWS storage fees.
How does hourly billing behave when I run several instances at once?
Each running instance bills independently at its own type's hourly rate. Charges add together across every active instance and appear on one invoice. Running larger sizes or more instances raises the total. You pay only for the hours each instance actually runs.

An AMI is a virtual image that provides the information required to launch an instance. Amazon EC2 (Elastic Compute Cloud) instances are virtual servers on which you can run your applications and workloads, offering varying combinations of CPU, memory, storage, and networking resources. You can launch as many instances from as many different AMIs as you need.

Review from a verified AWS customer
Oh, wow!!! I no longer need to hire a developer to set up LEMP stack for me with this technology when setting up WordPress for my clients. An interesting idea and the configuration was straightforward too.
