Automated vulnerability Patching with Generative AI
A Game-Changing AI Automation Tool with Flexibility for ITOps
I've been using AutobotAI for a while now, and it has been a game changer for automating my CloudOps and SecOps tasks. The service portal is fantastic—I’ve built multiple service portal apps and published them for our support team (e.g., AWS WAF IP whitelisting), making operations much more efficient.
This tool makes it incredibly easy to build automations using AI, and I’ve successfully created workflows like syncing Zoho CRM leads with our application and various cost optimization automations, such as automatically starting/stopping EC2, RDS, and ECS services.
Recently, I enabled compliance checks, which helped uncover several configuration issues. While I haven't fully reviewed them or automated fixes yet, I did try their AI-based automation creation for compliance findings. The experience was a bit hit or miss—I had to tweak the prompt a few times to generate an effective bot. However, I understand this is more of an LLM limitation than a flaw in the tool itself. One of the things I really appreciate is that AutobotAI doesn’t lock me into a specific AI provider—I can integrate any LLM of my choice.
A few areas for improvement:
When editing a bot action, having contextual details like previous node data, parameters, and the context object readily available would make the process smoother. Currently, I often need to switch tabs or close the action overflow to find relevant information. Additionally, enhancing debugging to display intermediate states and variables—rather than just the final output—would make troubleshooting much easier. Adding these improvements would significantly streamline workflow and enhance the user experience.
The support team was great—they helped me navigate the automation-building process smoothly. Their guidance made it easier to set up and optimize my workflows.
Overall, AutobotAI is a powerful and flexible automation tool, and despite minor usability challenges, it has significantly improved our workflows. Looking forward to future updates!
