Pricing is based on actual usage, with charges varying according to how much you consume. Subscriptions have no end date and may be canceled any time. Alternatively, you can pay upfront for a contract, which typically covers your anticipated usage for the contract duration. Any usage beyond contract will incur additional usage-based costs.
Additional AWS infrastructure costs may apply. Use the AWS Pricing Calculator to estimate your infrastructure costs.
If you are an AWS Free Tier customer with a free plan, you are eligible to subscribe to this offer. You can use free credits to cover the cost of eligible AWS infrastructure. See AWS Free Tier for more details. If you created an AWS account before July 15th, 2025, and qualify for the Legacy AWS Free Tier, Amazon EC2 charges for Micro instances are free for up to 750 hours per month. See Legacy AWS Free Tier for more details.
You pay by the hour for a hardened CentOS 9 image built to DISA STIG standards. Pricing is usage-based, with no upfront commitment. Each dimension maps to a specific AWS EC2 instance type, from small burstable sizes like t2.nano and t3.micro up to large memory, compute, storage, GPU, and bare-metal options. Your hourly rate depends on the instance type you launch, since larger instances carry more CPU, memory, and resources. You choose the size that fits your workload and scale by selecting a different instance type. The software runs the same across all sizes.
Top-of-mind questions for buyers
What does one hour of billing actually cover for a given instance type?
One hour maps to one running EC2 instance of that type with the hardened CentOS 9 image installed. You pay the hourly software rate for each hour the instance runs. Larger instance types carry more CPU, memory, and resources, so their hourly rate is higher.
Am I charged the software fee when my instance is stopped or paused?
The hourly software rate meters running time only. A fully stopped instance does not accrue software charges. Stopped instances may still incur underlying AWS storage fees for attached volumes, but those are separate from the software licence and billed by AWS.
Do I commit upfront, or do I pay only for what I run?
You pay as you go by the hour, with no upfront commitment. Charges accrue only while an instance runs. You scale by launching a different instance type, and the software behaves the same across all sizes. This suits workloads with variable or unpredictable demand.
