Self-hosted PDF editing platform powered by Stirling PDF (open source, MIT licensed, 76K+ GitHub stars). 50+ PDF tools running entirely on your EC2 instance - no data ever leaves your server.

Tools included: Merge, split, rotate, reorder, convert (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, images), OCR, sign, redact, watermark, compress, flatten, repair, form filling, metadata editing, and more.

    IMPORTANT - Security and Networking:

    • Web UI listens on port 8080. YOU MUST restrict your Security Group to allow only your IP on port 8080.
    • Do NOT leave port 8080 open to 0.0.0.0/0 in production.
    • To restrict: EC2 Console > Security Groups > Edit inbound rules > Set port 8080 source to YOUR_IP/32.

Deployment: Launch the AMI, open port 8080 to your IP, access the web UI. No configuration needed.

Pre-installed: Docker with Stirling PDF container, auto-starts on boot via systemd. CIS-hardened Amazon Linux 2023, auto-updates enabled, SSM Agent.

Recommended instance: t3.small (sufficient for personal use) or t3.medium (team use). No GPU required.

Data privacy: All PDF processing happens locally on your instance. No external API calls, no cloud dependencies, no telemetry.

Third-party components: Stirling PDF is open-source (MIT license). This AMI is provided AS-IS. Users are responsible for OS-level security patches.
