AWS Marketplace now accepts line of credit payments through the PNC Vendor Finance program. This program is available to select AWS customers in the US, excluding NV, NC, ND, TN, & VT.
Pricing is based on actual usage, with charges varying according to how much you consume. Subscriptions have no end date and may be canceled any time. Alternatively, you can pay upfront for a contract, which typically covers your anticipated usage for the contract duration. Any usage beyond contract will incur additional usage-based costs.
Additional AWS infrastructure costs may apply. Use the AWS Pricing Calculator to estimate your infrastructure costs.
If you are an AWS Free Tier customer with a free plan, you are eligible to subscribe to this offer. You can use free credits to cover the cost of eligible AWS infrastructure. See AWS Free Tier for more details. If you created an AWS account before July 15th, 2025, and qualify for the Legacy AWS Free Tier, Amazon EC2 charges for Micro instances are free for up to 750 hours per month. See Legacy AWS Free Tier for more details.
You pay by the hour for this hardened Debian 13 image, billed through AWS Marketplace usage pricing. Each dimension maps to a single EC2 instance type, so your rate depends on which instance you launch. Smaller instances like t3.nano and r7a.medium carry lower hourly rates, while large memory, compute, GPU, and bare-metal instances like u7in-32tb.224xlarge cost more per hour. You are not buying tiers or add-ons. You pick the instance that fits your workload, and the hourly software charge scales with that instance size.
Top-of-mind questions for buyers
What do I actually get for the hourly rate on each instance type?
You get a Debian 13 image configured to the product's stated DISA STIG hardening profile, backed by premium support. The hourly rate covers the software license for that one image. The underlying EC2 instance compute, storage, and network are billed separately by AWS.
Am I charged the hourly software fee when the instance is stopped?
The software charge meters running instance-hours. A stopped or powered-off instance does not accrue the hourly software fee. You may still pay underlying AWS storage fees for the attached volume while the instance is stopped, but those are AWS charges, not the software license.
Can I move between instance types, and how does that change my bill?
Each dimension maps to one EC2 instance type with its own hourly rate. If you relaunch the image on a different instance, you are billed at that instance's rate. The change is manual—it follows whichever instance you choose to run, with no tier upgrade step.

An AMI is a virtual image that provides the information required to launch an instance. Version release notes

If you need to connect using SSH, the default username is admin. Use your private key (.pem) file and connect to the instance public IP address on port 22:
ssh -i /path/to/your-key.pem admin@<public-ip-address>
For step-by-step instructions, see:
https://docs.aws.amazon.com/AWSEC2/latest/UserGuide/AccessingInstances.html
For security best practices, avoid exposing your hardened instance directly to the public Internet. If you must allow SSH access, configure your security group to allow connections only from your trusted IP addresses.
This image is pre-configured to meet STIG security requirements. As a result, some services or workflows may require additional configuration or workarounds to operate in a hardened environment. This is expected behavior for a security-hardened system and is part of maintaining a strong security posture.
