Each hourly unit covers VoidLinux running on one running EC2 instance of the type you select. You pay for one machine, one hour at a time. Instance families and sizes set the compute, memory, and storage you receive, so the unit maps to a single provisioned AArch64 instance.
Hourly software charges apply only while an instance runs. A stopped instance does not accrue the VoidLinux hourly rate. Underlying AWS charges, such as storage for attached volumes, may still apply separately. The software meter tracks running time only.

- Some instances may fail to update the kernel due to inadequate tmpfs RAM space for the update. To resolve, you can either add a swap partition or simply remount /tmp from tmpfs to disk.

Usage instructions
Launch EC2 instance from the AMI's console in EC2 Dashboard Choose instance type and storage options. Create SSH key to login remotely with username ec2-user. Create a security group with port 22 (SSH) enabled Data Encryption: This solution does not encrypt data within the running instance.
