Overview
Temporal is an open-source durable execution platform that persists workflow state automatically, so application code resumes exactly where it left off after crashes, restarts, or network failures without any manual checkpointing. Workflows are written in your existing language (Go, Java, Python, TypeScript, .NET) as ordinary code with built-in retries, timeouts, and compensation logic. Engineering teams at fintech, e-commerce, and SaaS companies use Temporal to orchestrate payment pipelines, order fulfillment, data ETL, and microservice choreography where partial failure is unacceptable. Its event sourcing model provides complete audit history for every workflow execution.

Pull the container image
Run with Docker
Deploy on Amazon ECS
- Create an ECS cluster (Fargate or EC2 launch type)
- Register a task definition using the image above
- Map container port 8080 to the host or load balancer
- Attach a persistent volume at /data for configuration
- Run the service and note the assigned public IP or ALB DNS
Access the application
- Open http://YOUR-HOST:8080 in your browser
- Complete the first-run setup wizard if prompted
- Create your administrator account
