5 historical and future trajectories of wind speed for Europe under no greenhouse gas mitigation policy, also called “Business-as-usual” scenario. Data are monthly from 1951 to 2100 and gridded at a 0.5° x 0.5° resolution (~ 50km x 50km).
5 historical and future trajectories of wind speed for Europe under no greenhouse gas mitigation policy, also called “Business-as-usual” scenario. Time-series are monthly from 1951 to 2100.
European countries in this data set are Albania, Austria, Belarus, Belgium, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Luxembourg, Lithuania, Macedonia, Moldova, Montenegro, the Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, the UK and Ukraine.
The 5 trajectories are a sub-set of 23 trajectories from IPCC models, under no greenhouse gas mitigation policy, also called “Business-as-usual” scenario and from models that provided all 6 parameters (min max and mean temperature, precipitation, surface wind and solar radiation). The sub-set selection is based on identifying trajectories that show the highest and lowest 30 year averages at the end of the century:
highest temperature
lowest temperature
highest rainfall
lowest rainfall
closest value to the mean of temperature and rainfall
File format is netCDF. One file per trajectory (i.e., 5 files per country). Each netCDF file contains gridded data at a 0.5° x 0.5° resolution (~ 50km x 50km).
AWS Marketplace now accepts line of credit payments through the PNC Vendor Finance program. This program is available to select AWS customers in the US, excluding NV, NC, ND, TN, & VT.
Pricing is based on the duration and terms of your contract with the vendor. This entitles you to a specified quantity of use for the contract duration. If you choose not to renew or replace your contract before it ends, access to these entitlements will expire.
Additional AWS infrastructure costs may apply. Use the AWS Pricing Calculator to estimate your infrastructure costs.
This listing uses one pricing dimension, Product Access (Units), under a contract model. You buy access to the dataset covering historical and future wind speed trajectories for Europe. Pricing is not split into tiers or instance sizes. Instead, a single access dimension grants you the product for the contract term. The data supports climate change impact studies and physical risk assessments, drawing on high-resolution, multi-model, multi-scenario climate projections. Because only one dimension exists, there are no add-ons or usage-based charges to combine. You commit once to gain access to the wind speed data.
Top-of-mind questions for buyers
What does one unit of Product Access include for the wind speed dataset?
One unit grants access to the historical and future wind speed trajectory data for Europe under the contract term. The data uses a spatial resolution of 0.10°x0.10° and covers the period from 1981 to 2100, delivered in netcdf and other formats depending on volume.
Does my cost change if I query or download more of the wind speed data?
No. Product Access is a single contract dimension, not a usage-based charge. You commit once to gain access for the contract term. There are no per-download or per-query charges that scale with how much data you retrieve.
What scenarios and models does the wind speed data cover under this access?
The data draws on three Shared Socioeconomic Pathways from IPCC AR6 (SSP1-2.6, SSP2-4.5, SSP5-8.5) based on the CMIP6 experiment. It uses five reference Earth System Models. All of this is included in the single Product Access dimension without extra charges.
