    Overview

This product has charges associated with it for seller support. Deploy a production ready Kamailio SIP server on AWS in minutes. Built for VoIP engineers, ITSPs and platform teams who need carrier grade SIP routing, registration and load balancing in front of media servers such as Asterisk or FreePBX, without spending days compiling modules, tuning the database backend and hardening the host.

Why Kamailio, and why this image

Kamailio (formerly OpenSER) routes thousands of call setups per second on modest hardware. It is the standard open source choice for SIP registrars, proxy layers and least cost routing front ends. This image removes the two barriers that slow real deployments: module and database assembly, and the security work needed before a SIP port can safely face the internet. SIP services are scanned within minutes of coming online; this image assumes that from the start.

What you get out of the box

    • Latest stable Kamailio from the official project repository, with the commonly needed modules enabled: registrar, usrloc, dispatcher, dialog, TLS, WebSocket, database connectivity
    • WebSocket support staged for WebRTC gateway scenarios
    • Anti fraud and abuse defaults: fail2ban rules for SIP scanners, pike module rate limiting, and a firewall stance that exposes only the ports you choose
    • kamctl and kamcmd management tooling configured and documented

    Common use cases

    • SIP load balancer: distribute registrations and calls across an Asterisk or FreePBX cluster using the dispatcher module
    • Registrar and proxy layer: terminate registrations at the edge and keep media servers private
    • ITSP core: routing, authentication and rate limiting for a service provider platform
    • WebRTC gateway front end: WebSocket SIP toward browsers, standard SIP toward your core
    • Geographic redundancy: stateless proxy design suits multi region active active layouts

    Sizing guidance

Kamailio is CPU light for signalling. Evaluation and small deployments: t3.small. Production proxy or registrar: t3.medium or t3.2xlarge. High registration churn or large routing tables benefit from memory, not cores.
