Overview
This dataset provides access to species distribution models (SDMs) for marine species, initially developed as part of the MPA Europe project (https://mpaeurope.eu/ ). SDMs are statistical models used to predict the potential geographic distribution of a species based on the relationship between observed species occurrence records and environmental predictors. The models were built using marine occurrence data from the Ocean Biodiversity Information System (OBIS) and the Global Biodiversity Information Facility (GBIF), together with environmental data from Bio-ORACLE v3.0 (Assis et al. 2024, DOI:10.1111/geb.13813).
