You pay by the hour for the software running on an Amazon EC2 instance. The many dimensions are all EC2 instance types, not feature tiers. Your rate depends on which instance size you pick. Options span burstable types (t2, t3), general-purpose types (m4, m5, m5d), and compute-focused types (c4, c5, c6a). Sizes range from small (t2.nano, m5.large) up to large configurations (m5.24xlarge, m5d.24xlarge, c6a.metal). Instances with more CPU, memory, or storage carry higher hourly rates. You choose the instance that matches your workload and scale by switching sizes.
Top-of-mind questions for buyers
What does one hourly unit include for each instance type?
Each unit is one running Amazon EC2 instance of that type, billed per hour. The rate bundles the Websoft9 platform hosting Budibase with the chosen instance's CPU, memory, and storage. Larger instance types carry more resources, so you pick the type that fits your workload and pay its hourly rate.
Am I charged the hourly rate when my instance is stopped?
Software charges apply per running instance-hour. When you stop the instance, the hourly software rate stops accruing. Stopped instances may still incur separate AWS storage fees for attached volumes, but the platform meters only running time. Restarting resumes the hourly charge for the chosen instance type.
How do I move to a different instance size if my workload grows?
You are not locked to one size. You launch or switch to the instance type that matches your workload, and the hourly rate follows that new type. Deployment happens through EC2 image creation, so scaling means selecting a different instance type rather than changing a feature plan.
