You pay by the hour for PrestaShop, an open-source e-commerce platform, based on the EC2 instance size you run. The 21 options are not feature tiers. Each maps to an AWS instance type across several families: general-purpose (t2, t3, m3, m4, m5), compute-optimized (c3, c4, c5), and memory-optimized (r3, r4, r5). Your rate scales with the instance's compute and memory, from smaller sizes like t3.nano and t2.micro up to t2.2xlarge. Choose the instance that fits your store's traffic and workload. Billing is usage-based, so you pay only for hours used.
Top-of-mind questions for buyers
What does one billed unit represent for PrestaShop?
One unit is one hour that your chosen EC2 instance runs. Each instance type meters separately by its own hourly rate. You pay for the software running on that instance, plus the underlying AWS compute. The count reflects wall-clock running time, not the number of store visitors or orders.
Am I charged if I stop or pause the PrestaShop instance?
Software charges apply only while the instance runs. A stopped instance stops accruing hourly software fees. Stopped instances may still incur AWS storage charges for attached volumes, but the software meters running hours only. Restarting resumes hourly billing automatically.
If my store traffic grows, does my rate change automatically?
No. Your hourly rate is tied to the instance type you select, not to traffic. To handle more load, you move to a instance with more compute or memory, which changes your rate. This switch is a manual choice, not an automatic upgrade.

An AMI is a virtual image that provides the information required to launch an instance. Amazon EC2 (Elastic Compute Cloud) instances are virtual servers on which you can run your applications and workloads, offering varying combinations of CPU, memory, storage, and networking resources. You can launch as many instances from as many different AMIs as you need.
