Oration bills by usage, so you pay for what you consume across six independent dimensions. You are charged when calls reach Oration and each time a spoken question is recognized. Core Features cost one charge per invocation, once per call. SMS charges vary by destination country. Two dimensions scale with complexity: Action Expansion Pack Usage depends on task complexity, and External API Usage depends on which API is called. There are no tiers or fixed instance sizes. Your total reflects call volume, feature use, and any external integrations you enable.
Top-of-mind questions for buyers
What counts as a Recognition Unit, and when does one get charged?
A Recognition Unit is charged each time the platform processes a spoken question from a caller. Every time Oration listens, transcribes, and identifies the intent behind what a customer says, that counts as one recognized question. Follow-up questions the platform asks to refine understanding can add more recognized questions.
How do the six usage dimensions combine on one bill?
All six dimensions bill independently and add together on the same invoice. Call volume and recognized questions typically drive base cost. Core Features add one charge per invocation per call. SMS, Action Expansion Pack, and External API charges only appear when you use those features. Your total reflects which capabilities each conversation triggers.
Why do SMS and External API charges vary from one interaction to the next?
SMS unit fees depend on the destination country, so charges shift with where you send verification links or one-time codes. External API Usage charges depend on which backend API a conversation calls to resolve a request. You only incur these when a conversation actually triggers an SMS or an external integration.
