Data is usually the hardest, riskiest part of any migration program. Volumes are large, change rates are high, lineage is poorly documented, and downtime tolerance is low. Get it wrong and the cutover slips by weeks — or, worse, the data on the other side of the cutover is silently incorrect.

PurePlay Cloud's Data Migration Accelerator is a structured engagement designed specifically for the data layer. It combines native AWS migration services (AWS Database Migration Service, AWS Schema Conversion Tool, AWS DataSync, AWS Transfer Family) with PurePlay Cloud's reconciliation, validation and orchestration automation. The result is a data migration that lands once, lands correctly, and is provable to auditors and business stakeholders.

Scope of data we migrate

• Structured: relational databases (Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MySQL, MariaDB, DB2) onto Amazon Aurora, RDS, Redshift
• Semi-structured: JSON, XML, Parquet, log data into Amazon S3, OpenSearch and analytics services
• Unstructured: file shares, document stores, media archives onto S3, EFS, FSx (Windows / NetApp ONTAP / Lustre)

Discover

• Source-system inventory: volumes, schemas, change rates, dependencies
• Compliance and data sovereignty review (Australian Privacy Principles, APRA CPS 234, sector-specific obligations)
• Cutover constraints — downtime windows, business critical reporting periods, regulatory cycles Design
• Migration approach per data domain (online replication, bulk + delta, snapshot, physical transport via Snowball)
• Reconciliation strategy with success criteria signed off by data and business stakeholders
• Network design for replication (Direct Connect, VPN, internet) sized to RPO/RTO targets

Execute

• Replication set-up using AWS DMS, DataSync or backup/restore with PurePlay Cloud orchestration around it
• Iterative dry-run cutovers to refine timing and surface issues before the real one
• Production cutover with row-level reconciliation, validation reports and rollback paths
