Overview
This is a repackaged open source software product wherein additional charges apply for technical support with a 24-hour response time. OpenJDK 17, built on a minimal CentOS Stream 9 installation, is included in this AMI, repackaged by Easycloud. It provides a fully configured, high-performance Java runtime and development environment, deliberately engineered for modern cloud-native applications, microservices, and heavy-duty enterprise workloads.
Core Features & Integrations
-
Modern LTS Architecture: Pre-installed with OpenJDK 17, the modern Long-Term Support (LTS) industry standard. It unlocks next-generation Java features including Records, Pattern Matching, Sealed Classes, and ultra-low latency garbage collectors (ZGC/Shenandoah) for maximum throughput.
-
Environment Configured: Essential environment variables (JAVA_HOME, JRE_HOME, and PATH) are pre-configured globally. No manual path setup is required just log in and deploy your applications immediately.
-
CentOS Stream 9 Foundation: Provides a robust, enterprise-grade underlying OS with deep structural alignment to RHEL, ensuring high security and seamless ecosystem compatibility with AlmaLinux, Rocky Linux, and traditional CentOS deployments.
Key Benefits
-
The Modern Enterprise Stack: By moving to the Java 17 ecosystem, development teams can leverage the latest performance optimizations and security baselines. This environment is the mandatory foundation for running next-generation frameworks like Spring Boot 3.x, Jakarta EE, and modern versions of classic application servers (Apache Tomcat, Jetty, JBoss/WildFly, GlassFish).
-
Ideal Foundation for JVM Ecosystems: A bloat-free environment acts as the perfect, vendor-neutral execution node for workloads targeting any major JDK distribution (Amazon Corretto, Eclipse Temurin, AdoptOpenJDK). It seamlessly anchors massive data pipelines and distributed systems, including Apache Kafka, Hadoop, Spark, Elasticsearch, and Cassandra, natively supporting multi-paradigm JVM languages like Scala, Groovy, and Kotlin.
-
Polyglot Microservices Integration: While serving as an impenetrable stronghold for Java workloads, this node integrates flawlessly into diverse polyglot microservices architectures. It is designed to smoothly interoperate with external services, load balancers, and APIs built across the world's most popular technology stacks, including Python, JavaScript (Node.js), Golang, Rust,Ruby, C#, PHP, and Swift.
-
Production Ready & Expert Support: Secured with the latest OS patches. It delivers a highly stable environment, fully supported by comprehensive documentation and fast technical assistance (guaranteed 24-hour response time) to ensure your enterprise infrastructure runs smoothly without costly downtime.
Highlights
- Legacy Ready: Perfect for maintaining and building existing OpenJDK 17 enterprise applications without the hassle of setting up an old environment from scratch.
- Expert Support: Backed by comprehensive documentation and fast, professional technical assistance.
