You buy this hosted payment HSM service under a contract. Three core options provide one cloud HSM each for card and mobile issuing, differing by speed: a low-speed configuration, a standard configuration, and a 1,000 TPS issuing configuration. Two optional add-ons connect your HSM estate to a region: a standard Access Point and a high-speed Access Point, priced per region. A Build Your Own option lets you set a custom configuration for service level, throughput, high availability, or bare metal. Each item is priced per host, so you scale by adding HSMs or regional access points.

What does one Access Point host cover, and why is it priced per region?
A VirtuCrypt Access Point (VAP) lets you use one set of cloud HSMs across multiple regions within a single public cloud provider. You buy it per region, so each region you connect adds one Access Point charge. It is optional and separate from the HSM host charge.
How do the core HSM options and the Access Points combine on my bill?
Each HSM host is billed independently per host. Access Points bill separately, one per region. Your HSM configuration drives the core charge; adding regional connectivity adds Access Point charges on top. The two charges are independent, so you can buy HSMs without Access Points if you connect a single region.
What can I set with the Build Your Own Cloud HSM option?
This option lets you specify a custom configuration for service level (SLA), throughput, high availability, or bare metal hosting. You choose it when the standard fixed-speed HSM configurations do not match your uptime, performance, or redundancy needs. It is billed per host like the other HSM options.
