Overview
Tangelo is on open-source software development kit (SDK) to facilitate the design of chemistry simulations on quantum computers. The SDK includes a collection of algorithms and toolboxes that can be assembled like building blocks to easily prototype, customize and test new ideas on simulators or quantum devices. This image comes with Tangelo v0.3.4, several quantum circuit simulators (Cirq, Qiskit, Qulacs), a classical chemistry backend (pyscf) and the amazon-braket-sdk python package. For tutorials and examples to kickstart your exploration, visit our GitHub page: https://github.com/goodchemistryco/Tangelo .
Highlights
- Open-source Python package.
- Re-usable building blocks: includes pre-built algorithms and toolboxes that can be combined with user-defined code to express complex workflows.
- Backend-agnostic: write code once and experiment with current and future platforms with minimal changes. Supports several simulators and QPU back-ends out of the box.

64-bit (x86) Amazon Machine Image (AMI)
Amazon Machine Image (AMI)
An AMI is a virtual image that provides the information required to launch an instance. Amazon EC2 (Elastic Compute Cloud) instances are virtual servers on which you can run your applications and workloads, offering varying combinations of CPU, memory, storage, and networking resources. You can launch as many instances from as many different AMIs as you need.

Usage instructions
Accessing the Instance
- Launch the product using EC2, and connect to the instance via SSH over port 22 using the username: ec2-user
Accessing the product
- Activate the ready-made Tangelo environment by typing source tangelo/bin/activate
- Use the python command in the terminal to either use the python interpreter in interactive mode or execute a python script. Tangelo can be used through standard Python import statements from the tangelo package.
Additional Details
- Many examples and tutorials illustrating the different features of Tangelo available at: https://github.com/goodchemistryco/Tangelo-Examples
- To submit quantum experiments to Braket, users can rely on the BraketConnection class in the tangelo.linq module. They are however required to request access to Braket and a S3 bucket in read / write mode from their AWS admin, and to set up their own credentials using the environment variables AWS_REGION, AWS_ACCESS_KEY_ID, AWS_SECRET_ACCESS_KEY, AWS_SESSION_TOKEN.
- No additional resources are required run this software, and there are no programmatic system credentials or keys that need to be maintained.
