What do I actually get for the hourly charge on each instance type?
You get the Oracle Linux 9.1 secure enterprise image, pre-built by TIOV IT, running on the AWS EC2 instance size you select. The hourly rate is the software licence charge for that specific instance size. AWS charges for the underlying compute, storage, and network are billed separately by AWS.
Am I charged the hourly software rate when my instance is stopped?
The software charge meters running time only. When you stop or power off an instance, the hourly software charge stops accruing. You may still pay AWS for attached storage such as EBS volumes while the instance is stopped, but that is an AWS charge, not the software licence.
If I run several instances of different sizes at once, how does my bill add up?
Each running instance is billed independently at the hourly rate for its own size. The charges accrue in parallel and add together on your invoice. Larger instance sizes carry higher hourly rates, so your total depends on which sizes you run and how many hours each stays active.

Once the instance is running, connect to it using a Secure Shell (SSH) client with the configured SSH key. The default username is 'cloud-user'
Info regarding virtual machines
The operating system does not save any sensitive information for the customers. The customer is responsible for saving any information, sensitive or not.
The data saved on the volumes is not encrypted by default.
All instance authentication must use key pair access, not password-based authentication.
AMIs does not contain passwords, authentication keys, key pairs, security keys, or other credentials.
PasswordAuthentication is set to NO in sshd_config.
The application does not make use of any encryption techniques.
