Overview
Yunwei AWS Resource Tagging Toolkit is a free AMI-based software tool designed to help AWS customers assess resource tagging coverage and improve basic resource visibility across their AWS accounts.
The toolkit provides a lightweight web interface and command-line utilities for reviewing tag coverage, identifying untagged or inconsistently tagged resources, checking common tag keys such as Project, Owner, Environment, and CostCenter, and generating exportable CSV or HTML reports.
The toolkit supports monitoring, IT business management, and operations management use cases by helping customers review resource tag coverage, identify untagged resources, and generate basic resource visibility reports.
Customers deploy the product as an EC2 instance in their own AWS account. The software runs within the customer's AWS environment. Customers remain in control of their credentials, permissions, IAM roles, AWS resources, and generated reports.
This product is suitable for organizations that need a lightweight way to improve AWS resource governance, support internal cost allocation preparation, and review cloud resource ownership.
This product is provided free of charge. Customers are responsible for AWS infrastructure costs associated with running the EC2 instance and related AWS resources.

Usage instructions
After subscribing to this product, launch the AMI as an EC2 instance in your AWS account.
Recommended instance type: t3.small. Recommended security group: allow HTTP port 80 from trusted IP addresses only. SSH port 22 should be restricted to your administrator IP address.
After the instance is running, open the instance public IP or public DNS name in a browser:
http://<EC2-Public-IP>
On the home page, select Demo Mode to view sample output without granting AWS permissions, or select AWS API Mode to assess resources in your AWS account.
For AWS API Mode, attach an IAM role to the EC2 instance with read-only permissions for AWS Resource Groups Tagging API. Recommended permissions include resourcegroupstaggingapi:GetResources, resourcegroupstaggingapi:GetTagKeys, resourcegroupstaggingapi:GetTagValues, tag:GetResources, and ec2:DescribeRegions.
The tool checks common tag keys including Project, Owner, Environment, CostCenter, BusinessUnit, and ManagedBy. It generates tag coverage summaries, missing tag details, and downloadable CSV reports.
This product is free software. Customers are responsible for AWS infrastructure charges incurred when running the EC2 instance and related resources.
