Markdown and Promotions modules are built on Peak, an AI platform. It uses price elasticity and forecasting models to measure a product's change in demand in relation to a hypothetical change in its price, giving you SKU level markdown suggestions based on the metrics you want to maximize.
The first step is creating your AI-ready data set; here we need to ingest, transform and organize data (transactional, store, pricing, locational data etc) from across your entire company into Peak. Once your data set is ready, we create your centralized intelligence with the Markdown application to simulate the changes in demand with the applied markdowns, taking into account the metrics you want to maximize, to give you SKU level suggestions for any location or channel.
