AWS Marketplace now accepts line of credit payments through the PNC Vendor Finance program. This program is available to select AWS customers in the US, excluding NV, NC, ND, TN, & VT.
You pay by the hour for the AWS EC2 instance type you run BATON Checker Server on. Each dimension maps to a specific instance size, so pricing scales with the compute power you choose. Options span two families: compute-optimized (c5, c5a, c6i, c6a, c6in, c7i, c7a) and general-purpose (m5, m5a, m5n, m5zn, m6a, m6i, m6in, m7a, m7i). Within each family, sizes range from 2xlarge up to 12xlarge. Hourly rates rise as instance size and capacity grow. You select the instance that fits your QC workload and pay only for hours used.
Top-of-mind questions for buyers
What does one hourly unit cover for BATON Checker Server?
One unit is one running AWS EC2 instance of the size you select, billed per hour. The rate reflects that instance's compute capacity. You run the BATON Checker Server software on that instance and pay for each hour it operates. Larger instance sizes carry higher hourly rates.
Am I charged when the instance is stopped or idle?
Software charges meter running instance-hours only. When you stop the instance, the hourly software fee stops accruing. Stopped instances may still incur separate AWS storage fees for attached volumes, but those are billed by AWS, not by the software licence. You pay software charges only for hours the instance runs.
How do I decide between compute-optimized and general-purpose instances for my QC workload?
Compute-optimized instances (c-family) favor processing-heavy QC where frame-by-frame video decoding drives the load. General-purpose instances (m-family) balance compute and memory for mixed workloads. BATON decodes audio and video internally to run quality checks. Match the instance family and size to your file volume and check depth, then pay for hours used.

An AMI is a virtual image that provides the information required to launch an instance. Amazon EC2 (Elastic Compute Cloud) instances are virtual servers on which you can run your applications and workloads, offering varying combinations of CPU, memory, storage, and networking resources. You can launch as many instances from as many different AMIs as you need.
