Overview
Amach Tailwind Engineering — ACE as a Service
A tailwind gives an aircraft more speed without extra effort from the crew. Amach Tailwind Engineering works exactly the same way — bringing ACE (Aviation Cloud Engineering) as a Service to aviation enterprises, embedding sprint-based AWS engineering squads directly alongside your team so you deliver more cloud outcomes at pace, without the overhead of recruitment, permanent headcount, or long-cycle consulting engagements.
This is a Professional Services offering delivered end-to-end by Amach's team of AWS-certified architects and cloud engineers, purpose-built for the aviation sector.
How It Works
Amach Tailwind Engineering operates in structured two-week sprints against a continuously prioritised backlog. Rather than fixed-scope project delivery, your squad adapts to your business priorities each sprint — migrating workloads, building new infrastructure, remediating security findings, or reducing cloud spend. The squad embeds into your team's ways of working and delivers progressively, so knowledge accumulates with your people throughout the engagement.
Sprint Zero — Alignment & Backlog Build (Weeks 1–2) Your squad assesses your current AWS environment, understands your business priorities, and builds your initial backlog. The output is a prioritised sprint backlog, an architecture baseline, an agreed delivery cadence, and a knowledge transfer plan for the engagement. Your squad establishes the shared delivery tracker and sprint ceremonies your team participates in throughout.
Active Engineering Sprints (Ongoing) Squads work across your backlog in two-week cycles. Each sprint delivers production-ready infrastructure and automation — version-controlled, peer-reviewed, documented, and handed over. Sprint reviews and retrospectives keep delivery transparent and backlog priorities sharp. Your stakeholders have full visibility throughout — no black-box delivery.
Continuous Optimisation As your aviation environment evolves, your backlog evolves with it. Squads pivot fluidly between new build, migration, security remediation, and FinOps — wherever the most value lies each sprint. There are no change control delays; the backlog is the contract.
Aviation Credentials
Amach has delivered AWS environments for IAG Group and Lufthansa Group — two of the world's largest airline groups — alongside major European airports and a global PSS SaaS provider. Every Tailwind Engineering squad brings this sector depth into your environment from day one: engineers who understand IATA data standards, airline operational systems, airport integration patterns, and the regulatory frameworks governing aviation IT.
Key AWS Services
- AWS Control Tower & Organizations — multi-account governance, guardrails, and policy enforcement
- AWS Transit Gateway & VPC — secure, scalable network architecture across accounts and regions
- Amazon EKS & ECS — container orchestration for aviation workloads at scale
- AWS CodePipeline & CodeBuild — CI/CD automation and DevOps acceleration
- Amazon CloudWatch & AWS X-Ray — observability and operational visibility
- AWS IAM, Security Hub & GuardDuty — identity governance and continuous compliance posture
- Amazon S3, RDS, Aurora & DynamoDB — data persistence for aviation operational and analytics workloads
- AWS Cost Explorer & Compute Optimizer — FinOps tooling and spend governance across the estate
AI-Accelerated Delivery
Amach squads use Claude Code (Anthropic's agentic AI coding CLI) and Kiro (AWS's spec-driven agentic IDE) to accelerate IaC authoring, automation scripting, and infrastructure configuration. Both tools understand HCL, YAML, and Python natively — enabling faster, more consistent delivery across every sprint. These tools are available to your engineering team post-handover, so the acceleration capability stays with you permanently.
Who This Is For

Getting Started
Contact Amach through the AWS Marketplace or email the Amach sales team at sales@amach.com to schedule a scoping conversation. An Amach Account Manager will engage to understand your environment, priorities, and throughput requirements, and to agree squad composition and a start date.
Post-Deployment Support
Amach offers two support tiers to maintain continuity after your Tailwind Engineering engagement closes.
Business Tier — for moderate or growing AWS environments.
Enterprise Tier — for business-critical or complex aviation workloads.
Cases are submitted through the Amach support portal.
Escalation
All support customers have access to a dedicated Amach Account Manager and, at Enterprise tier, a designated TAM. Both provide a direct escalation path and a built-in route to AWS when required.
During the Engagement
Your Tailwind Engineering squad operates with full transparency: sprint planning, daily standups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives are all open to your team. A shared delivery tracker maintains visibility of backlog status, sprint progress, and completed work. All outputs are handed over progressively — no knowledge is locked away at engagement close.
