Percona Monitoring and Management (PMM) is an open source database observability, monitoring, and management tool for use with MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, and the servers on which they run. It enables you to view node- to single-query performance metrics for all of your databases in a single place. With Query Analytics, you can quickly locate costly and slow-running queries to address bottlenecks. Additionally, Percona Advisors equip you with performance, security, and configuration recommendations that help you keep your databases performing at their best. Alerting and management features like backup, restore, and built-in open source Private DBaaS are designed to increase the velocity of your IT team.

    Highlights

    • Keep your revenue engine up and running. With PMM, you can keep your databases running smoothly and continuously, with consistent end-user experience for applications. Easily find, fix, and prevent scaling issues, bottlenecks, and potential outages.
    • Spend less time managing complex environments. Enable developers and DBAs to be able to view and monitor complex environments with multi-databases, multiple technologies, and multiple providers.
    • Speed up development. PMM creates a common language between DBAs, developers, and sysadmins to help speed development and release cycles. With PMM, high-quality releases will not negatively impact performance, scale, or security.

What do you like best about the product?
Percona PMM is free and utilizes open source solutions to implement state-of-the-art monitoring and alerting solutions for your entire database infrastructure and applications. Upgrade and installation is easy and has less operations overhead. It is not agent-based, and data can be selected from the performance schema.
What do you dislike about the product?
It can be clumsy sometimes, and dashboard navigation is complex and not intuitive. In addition, the reading graph is hard and can be confusing sometimes. It has its own learning curve, and user needs time to get used to the dashboard.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Monitoring systems are very costly, and Percona PMM is free. So cost friendly is a significant benefit for using PMM software. In addition, operations overhead such as installation and upgradation is significantly less for our DBA team.

What do you like best about the product?
Query analysis part which help us a lot to know cost of the Query and inndb buffer pool graph,db replication status, temp table uses , parallel select query performance ,best part is graphical representation for uses of IO threads on server .
this all makes a good mixture for MySQL DBA it makes my job easier to manage each and every instance manually i get lot of things at same point

We are Monitoring more than 26 instance ,i can compare each and every instance on sever level , configuration level. Which are one of the best part for us .
What do you dislike about the product?
Till now i did not face any down side for PMM. But in query analysis part there should be a section user, host info like from which it's coming somthing we are not able to identify.

And also big queries syntax are not showing in QA section.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
    1. Slowness of sever so with help of PMM we are able to debug slow queries
    2. Configuration part which show us where we are lagging
3.high hits and load at specific time of interval we are able to debug
    4.logs alerts helps alot
