Overview
Whether you want to expose APIs to your clients in Excel or want to consume already exposed APIs, you don't need to write and support custom plugins. The APIX™ platform enables you to do both.
APIX.XL™ is a Microsoft Excel Add-in that exposes APIs as native Excel functions and includes authentication and connectivity to API gateways. It converts any API with an associated Swagger document into an Excel first-class citizen. APIX.XL™ works out of the box with various API gateways and it seamlessly discovers any Swaggerized APIs registered. Visit https://www.ness.com/practices/data-analytics/apix to download a trial version of APIX.XL™, customizable up to three API endpoints.
APIX.XL™ allows you to: o Seamlessly expose APIs as native Excel functions o Provide downloadable applications packaged as simple Excel templates o Collect API- and app-usage metrics to enhance the end-user experience o Dynamically expose new APIs or new versions of existing APIs o Support streaming and event-based data flows into Excel
APIX.Hub™ is a free Swagger repository that supports APIX.XL™ from the convenience of your AWS environment. Provision an Amazon Machine Image (AMI) with APIX.Hub™ in your Virtual Private Cloud (VPC) and then download APIX.XL™ to give the platform a spin. The only charges you're responsible for are the AWS infrastructure you use.

Highlights
- Call remote APIs as if they're native Excel functions: this works both for reading (e.g., GET) or for writing (e.g., POST, PUT, DELETE). Never have to upgrade an Add-in when you release new functionality: APIX™ automatically discovers the change
- Authenticate against remote APIs with oAuth so Excel access is as secure as any other API access. Easily convert JSON payloads into Excel-friendly structures such as tables.
- Receive help tips just like any other Excel function. Treat Excel like a browser runtime and build feature-rich applications

CloudFormation Template (CFT)
AWS CloudFormation templates are JSON or YAML-formatted text files that simplify provisioning and management on AWS. The templates describe the service or application architecture you want to deploy, and AWS CloudFormation uses those templates to provision and configure the required services (such as Amazon EC2 instances or Amazon RDS DB instances). The deployed application and associated resources are called a "stack."
