    Akkodis Application Modernisation – Transform rearchitects, rebuilds or replaces an application to unlock business capabilities the current architecture cannot deliver. Unlike Uplift, the application doesn't end up doing the same thing on a better foundation — it ends up doing something different, with a fundamentally different shape.

    Transform is the right pathway when the existing architecture is the constraint: when delivery cycles are too slow, when integration patterns block new business models, when the platform can't scale to where the business is heading, or when end-of-life software needs replacing rather than preserving.

    Akkodis consultants and engineers drive the work end-to-end, with AI tooling embedded in our delivery method to accelerate requirements extraction, architecture design, code generation, test creation and validation across the project lifecycle. AI enhances and augments our delivery to accelerate time to value and reduce cost — it does not replace the senior architectural and engineering judgement required to deliver new applications safely.

    Typical engagement shape:

    • Confirm scope — validate the transformation target, success criteria, business outcomes and migration strategy (typically informed by a prior Modernisation Assessment)
    • Design — target architecture across business, solution, integration, technology and security domains; UI design, data models, API contracts, security model
    • Plan — modernisation roadmap, task breakdown, test strategy, test plan and test cases
    • Execute — development and configuration tasks, automated unit testing, build and deployment artefact creation
    • Validate — automated system, integration and regression testing; user acceptance support; performance and security verification
    • Migrate and cutover — data migration where required, controlled cutover, parallel running where appropriate
    • Operate — optional handover to Akkodis Managed Application Services

    AI delivery method

    Akkodis operates within isolated AI development environments with controlled access to approved AI services, designed to be compatible with strict data-handling and AI-use policies. Client codebases and materials remain segregated, with managed prompts, instructions and tooling under Akkodis governance.

    Targets and technologies

    Transform targets cloud-native applications on AWS — typically web applications on containerised or serverless platforms (Amazon ECS, Amazon EKS, AWS Lambda) backed by AWS-managed data services (Amazon Aurora, Amazon RDS, Amazon DynamoDB, Amazon OpenSearch Service). Front-end stacks are language-agnostic and selected to fit the workload. Hybrid configurations are supported where on-premises integration must persist.
