Dimensions summary
You pay by the hour for a hardened AlmaLinux 8.10 machine image. The single billing unit is instance running time, charged per hour. The many options you see are not tiers or feature levels. Each one maps to a specific AWS EC2 instance type. Your rate depends on which instance type you launch. Smaller instances, such as general-purpose or burstable types, carry lower hourly rates. Larger compute, memory, storage, or GPU instances carry higher rates. Pick the instance size that fits your workload. Cost scales with the instance capacity you choose and the hours you run it.
Top-of-mind questions for buyers
You get a hardened AlmaLinux 8.10 machine image running on the AWS EC2 instance type named in the dimension. The instance provides the CPU, memory, storage, and any GPU tied to that type. The software license meters running time on that instance.
The software charge applies per hour while the instance runs. A fully stopped instance does not accrue software charges. Underlying AWS storage fees may still apply to attached volumes, but the license meters running hours only.
Each instance type maps to its own hourly rate. Switching means you stop paying the old rate and start paying the new one for the hours the new instance runs. The change is manual, driven by which instance you choose to launch.
