Chromatic is the UI testing platform used by frontend teams of all sizes to catch visual, functional, and accessibility issues before they ship. Tests run in real browsers and compare rendered UI against baselines to prevent regressions and ensure that changes are intentional, predictable, and trustworthy.Chromatic integrates into CI/CD pipelines and helps scale from component libraries to complex applications. Maintain UI quality as code ships rapidly, whether written by devs or AI agents, by enforcing UI rules consistently and surfacing regressions early when they're cheapest to fix. Chromatic integrates with Storybook, Playwright, and Cypress extending your existing tests without rewriting test logic or maintaining brittle snapshots. Tests run in parallel across browsers, viewports, and component states with minimal maintenance. Built by the Storybook team.
Built by the Storybookteam, Chromatic is designed for the reality of modern frontend development: UI changes arrive constantly, sometimes authored by developers, sometimes generated by AI agents. Chromatic automatically puts every change through the same browser-level checks, across UI states, themes, and viewports to surface regressions fast on every code push.
Chromatic tests UI (rendered code, styling, and assets) in real browsers to eliminate flake from latency, animations, resource loading, and minor DOM changes. Tests run in unlimited parallelization across Chrome, Safari, Firefox, and Edge for feedback fast with full test coverage.
Test How UIs Look & Function
Every time you push code, Chromatic runs the suite of UI Tests on your rendered UI to capture every regression at the pixel level.
Visual testing: Pinpoint changes in layout, color, typography, spacing, and rendering automatically. Chromatic compares rendered UI against approved baselines, and allows selective ignoring of elements to focus on meaningful changes.
Functional testing: Validate UI functionality by simulating clicks, typing, and hovers in all component states and variations. Storybook play functions and Testing Library all plug in directly so interaction tests stay readable, and fast. Debug directly in browser devtools with full access to DOM, styling, and assets.
Accessibility testing: Tackle accessibility debt and make a11y testing a natural part of your UI development workflow. Chromatic captures accessibility violations at the component level to prevent issues from spreading across applications and design systems. Detect new and changed violations compared against baselines, so you can focus on what changed without getting lost in preexisting issues.
Benefits of Testing with Chromatic
Test only what's changed: TurboSnap limits testing to only changed components, saving you time and optimizing snapshot usage. Customize Turbosnap to run on specific branches, ignore files, and when to retest.
No test flake:Steadysnap eliminates test flake by stabilizing rendering. Steadysnap tracks browser activity and asset loading, freezes dynamic content, and uses burst capture to select the most stable render.
Test the real UI across real browsers and viewports: Unlike snapshot testing and E2E tests, Chromatic runs UI tests in real browsers, viewports, and themes giving you wide test coverage of components in the same states users see.
Run tests in parallel by default: Chromatic runs tests in unlimited parallelization for fast feedback without slowing down CI pipelines at no extra cost.
Monitor accessibility compliance progress in real time: Track improvements in compliance and tackling accessibility debt with the Accessibility dashboard. See how each pull request improves compliance, and monitor violations over time to identify trends and progress toward compliance.

AWS Marketplace now accepts line of credit payments through the PNC Vendor Finance program. This program is available to select AWS customers in the US, excluding NV, NC, ND, TN, & VT.
Pricing is based on the duration and terms of your contract with the vendor, and additional usage. You pay upfront or in installments according to your contract terms with the vendor. This entitles you to a specified quantity of use for the contract duration. Usage-based pricing is in effect for overages or additional usage not covered in the contract. These charges are applied on top of the contract price. If you choose not to renew or replace your contract before the contract end date, access to your entitlements will expire.
Additional AWS infrastructure costs may apply. Use the AWS Pricing Calculator to estimate your infrastructure costs.
This listing bills through a one-year contract. You commit to the Chromatic Pro Plan for One Year, which includes 85,000 monthly snapshots. A snapshot is a captured image of your UI used for testing. If your usage passes the included monthly amount, the Overage Snapshots dimension charges you per extra snapshot. So the two dimensions work together: one sets your annual base commitment, and the other covers usage beyond that limit. Overage scales with how many additional snapshots you use each month.
Top-of-mind questions for buyers
What counts as one snapshot for billing purposes?
A snapshot is a captured image of your UI in a single browser and viewport, used for testing. Each state you test produces a billed snapshot. When file changes don't affect a test, Chromatic copies a previous snapshot, which counts less toward your monthly usage.
What happens if I use more than my 85,000 included monthly snapshots?
You keep testing without interruption. Snapshots beyond the 85,000 monthly amount bill through the Overage Snapshots dimension, charged per extra snapshot. Only the additional snapshots incur overage charges; your base commitment covers the first 85,000 each month.
How do the two dimensions combine on my bill?
The Chromatic Pro Plan sets your annual base, including 85,000 monthly snapshots. The Overage Snapshots dimension bills separately, only when monthly usage passes that limit. The base charge stays fixed; overage varies month to month with your extra snapshot usage. Both can appear on the same invoice.
